I'd rather have a 24" 1080p monitor than a 32" 1080p monitor unless I was strictly playing 1080p games and watching media on it. 32" 1080p for text is not an ideal experience.

Also I'm not even sure what you're saying regarding real estate. A 4K monitor has 4x the "real estate" of a 1080p monitor.
Ideal? Go ahead and get a 4k then. I have four 32" 1080 monitors on a couple GTX3060 laptops and I really don't see where the gripe exists on reading text unless you enabled windows zoom feature or don't have aliasing in your recent processor/graphics card.

I agree details aren't ideal compared to 2k or 4k but I would much rather have 32" than 24" for work. I've had 24", 27", and 32" on the same desk and if I want to pull up a YouTube video or play a PC game then screen real estate wins every time.

Real estate meaning bigger physical picture, not how much pixels and windows you can fit in a smaller screen at higher resolutions. I'm glad 4k owners can enjoy size 10 font at even a smaller perspective if that's your thing. For gaming then go with a 4k and 3080. For office use I would hate to have everything shrunk.

Is this monitor good or is something better than this at this price? I'm mostly concerned with the VA screen which I've had some bad experience that they don't look as nice for watching videos and movies. Any thoughts on this model?
I bought this for work with ultrasharps as secondary monitors - hard pass. It was gross in comparison, and I had bought a used 2017 4K 27" ultrasharp to use in portrait mode next to it as my messaging monitor and it's sharpness, pop, color, all those things were so much better. It's like it has a film on it (but it doesn't Wink )

Sending this out into the workshop. Maybe it's not so bad all alone, but I won't be looking at it all day.

Usually I really like Dell S series monitors so I was really disappointed.

Can I use this with Mac mini?
According to RTings, there is a known compatibility issue with Dell monitors and Macs atm. See here: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/di...1-mac-mini

You've got a pretty unconventional opinion there. Based on what I have seen, most people get pretty grossed out by the dot pitch on 1080p over 24", it gets pretty blocky.

And your definition of screen real estate is unconventional too - typically it is absolutely about how much can be seen on a given browser window, etc. This is a function of pixels and scaling, yes, but a 4K monitor at 200% scaling for you will look amazing, I use 125% and I can absolutely fit more work on my screens and have it be very clear than you could approach on a large 1080p panel like you describe.

1440p text on a 32" is a little blurry for me, but that's what I use for a gaming monitor and you're right, in games it's much harder to tell but it's nice not to play the 4K pixel tax!

I highly suggest people go for a good 1440p monitor instead. There are still a lot of issues with 4k right now.

Why buy 32" that's not 4k unless only for games and movies?
Doesn't make sense in 2021.
Completely agree. I bought two of these earlier this year and just not happy with how it turned out. I've Always used the highest resolution I could get my hands on, but the 4K is just overkill and to me, doesn't make sense for monitors. Someone was spouting off about no more curved monitors, but with two of these, it's practically imperative. In hindsight, getting perhaps some higher quality monitors that are right below 4k would been a better option, or one of those redick one piece monitors.

I have this monitor and use it for primarily office work and light image/video editing. Works great for the price. A year ago, I had a 1080p 27" monitor with a 24" secondary one (probably comparable resolution). Then purchased a flat LG 32" 4K and that ended up as my primary monitor. The 27" 1080p as a secondary monitor was getting little use as going back and forth between the 4K LG monitor to it was bothering my eyes between the resolution and pixel differences (for me, as someone who works sitting behind the monitor the 4K is much nicer). I can see more of my database work, more of my spreedsheets, more of my ArcGIS maps (and menus), less pixelation, and basically have more real estate than on the 27" 1080p both in terms of size, but also due to the resolution bump.

Decided to replace the 27" and went with this Dell curved 32" 4K and I like it. I'm glad I replaced the 27". The curve is nice as on a flat 32" I found I moved my head more to look at side menus/commands/edges of spreadsheets, etc. and it's nice to have the two 32" 4Ks side by side for the added space when dealing with data flows.

While a 27" 1080p is fully usable and I did use up until a year or so ago, having used a variety of sizes and resolutions of monitors side-by-side I strongly disagree with those who claim a 4K isn't a better experience for office productivity work.

For gaming: Dell S2721DGF
For multiple monitor productivity: Any that has matching sizes
For single monitor productivity: Go for an ultrawide that is larger than 34"

Unconventional opinion for sure, but I still stand by it. You really could nitpick and say 1080p is blocky compared to higher resolutions, but that's a bit of a stretch.

For the average use, light-gaming and home productivity machine I would recommend better speakers, mouse pad, peripherals, anything over dumping the extra cost for 4k. Same argument goes for aliasing on video games. Sure you can spend an extra $800 on a graphics card to remove that one jaggy on Lara Croft's cleave at 120fps, but maybe you're better off getting a better office chair.

For bang for buck 1080 is still good for me. If that pixel is really bugging you then go for the 4k. We're talking enthusiast vs consumer preferences here. And the Dell monitor listed is not an enthusiast monitor. I'd rather have 2 1080's side by side than one 4k at the same price and half the size.
I sometimes have to work from another room that has a 32" 1080p instead of a 24" 4K and I absolutely HATE the 32" 1080p. I strongly disagree with what you are saying. It's a noticeably inferior work experience.

This one or the curved Monoprice 35" Zero-G monitor for the same price?
Monoprice is Ultrawide, this is a different aspect ratio.

I've had poor luck with Samsung monitors, don't love my LG, and have been impressed with my Monoprice for the value.

Isn't 60hz too low for gaming experience? Also as I understand it's not an IPS
Yeah I can't play on 60hz. Good to have your monitor run a higher refresh rate than what your gpu is outputting. Plus games running on 4K is a load on GPUs
