Seems like a great deal. Costco has the DeLonghi Magnifica XS [costco.com] superautomatic for $499 for another option if an easy return policy is important (was to me when I was shopping for superautomatics). Even better if the $50 off $500 Costco coupon still exists.

This looks just like the Philips Saeco Incanto. If it's the same, it's worked well for me.

Great price on this. Gotta say.
I still think the Velasca might be a better machine.
Edit: no returns on this, so take your chances.

I've never heard of that, is it a fully automatic?

Yes. It's similar to the Anima, but has more settings for grind and "aroma ". It's another model from Gaggia, btw.

For reference, I was able to get the Delonghi ESAM for $450 a week ago (https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/fp/675094), so this deal isn't the only machine down at this price point. I also got the Philips 1200 for $400 in the past. Not to say this isn't a great machine though!

It looks like this is still available even though it's a one-day sale posted yesterday. Seems like a really good deal for super automatic expresso machine with great reviews. Surprised it hasn't received more attention.

It's the same price on whole latte love but for a refurbished unit. This is a great price, assuming it's brand new.

In terms of quality which would you get the Delong Magnifica XS or the Delonghi ESAM for $450 from a week ago at sams?
Anyone else feel free to provide inout.

How is this machine different from a Phillips Saeco Incanto or my old Saeco Vienna Plus superautomatic machine? I ask because I am looking for a good reason to upgrade, but I can't find one. The internals of the new machines don't seem any different, though the new ones allow some settings like water temp and "aroma", whatever that is.

I read the reviews of the Costco Magnifica XS on their site and ended up getting this Gaggia Anima based on some research and various reviews. I wasn't even in the market for getting an espresso machine but damn you slickdeals for relieving me of $500

Is the Philips 4300 worth double the price of this? In terms of espresso taste(lets forget about the milk option). I basically want the best tasting espresso automatic below 1k.

The Magnifica XS is my first espresso maker I've purchased so I can't get you any feedback compared to the ESAM model from Sams Club. The link below is an ESAM vs. an ECAM (Magnifica XS) comparison but the ESAM model they discuss isn't the same as the Sam's Club one; I'm assuming it's older. This is only if you're interested in the crazy little details.

I think the general take home message is DeLonghi has been making espresso machines for ages and whichever machine you buy will work great for you for many years. You'll get similar longevity and espresso quality out of either. That being said, I bought the Magnifica XS from Costco specifically for Costco's easy returns. Also, the DeLonghi ESAM at Sam's Club [samsclub.com] is now at $570 if that affects your decision making.
