That one was a price mistake and you had to fight tooth and nail to get the router.
I posted a comment about this router in another thread: https://slickdeals.net/f/15367843-ryobi-18v-router-49-w-o-battery-and-99-with-battery-charger?p=150680911#post150680911

Short version: I have 2 corded routers and I bought this strictly for trim work. It turned out to be so useful, I ended up using it the most. It is so easy to grab it and chamfer or round over a work piece. As a router, it works fine with high quality bits like Whiteside, even without speed control. It's downside is ergonomics. Due to its battery form factor, it is not round-shaped like most trim routers. You can only hold it one way and the power button is awkward to reach when the router is on. It also lacks brake. So you either have to hold it until the bit stops or set it upside down and wait for the bit to stop. I am never comfortable with either situation.

I just picked up the Dewalt cordless router for $99 after the battery hack. I don't think the Dewait works better than Ryobi strictly as a trim router, but it is safer (with electronic brake) and more enjoyable to operate.

Bottom line: if you are going to use a trim router a lot, you should include ergonomics in the buying decision. Otherwise, it is fine to put up with the Ryobi and save a few bucks to spend on quality bits.
Seems like we have seen this deal a few times this month. What's new now?

It used to be $69 with a 1/4 sheet sander and glue gun in a bundle with this. This is not a hot deal.

I thought the price mistake was two sanders (sheet & corner cat) and the router. Did they have another price mistake with glue gun/sander?

That was the one I got in on. I got the sanders for free. No router.

What's the quality like for something like this? I currently run Milwaukee but these ryobi deals are tempting for tools I won't use often.

Exactly how I got into the Ryobi ecosystem. For seldom used tools they are perfectly fine.

If your Milwaukee is Fuel version, then its Powerstate motor is quite a bit more powerful & faster than the one in this Ryobi, but both still use 1/4" collet though. I bought this Ryobi router from DTO couple months ago but still haven't used it yet. If you do precision woodworking, then I think fixed base router with 1/2" collet is much better and longer-lasting, but then 1/2" bits are quite expensive. I just bought the corded Bosch 1617evspk & 1181 table to learn how to construct basic cabinets

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but don't all trim routers have 1/4" collets and you need to move up to a full sized router to get 1/2"?

I have one and use it pretty often…. For my uses it's great.

I don't do "fine" furniture but for a bright blue kids step stool a decorative edge doesn't have to be "fine"…. Rounding over corners on shelving for a more finished/durable look…. It work.

QFT. I also have the 1617 with fixed and plunge bases. I use that for heavier jobs, but the cordless Ryobi is my go-to for simple roundovers and occasional flush trimming. The Milwaukee Fuel router is much more capable, but I'd rather have the Ryobi and a second corded router.
