Model # GDX18V-1800B12

Includes 2.0AH 18v battery, charger, and carrying case

You'll need to add it to cart first to see the final price. I'll add that this kit is not among the Bosch tools eligible for the Lowes Buy-1-get-1 promotion. - there is no such B1G1 promo, so ignore this part.

I tried adding it to a fresh cart and the deal still appears. Not sure what issue you're running into.

FYI these come with old generation Bosch batteries (which were 💩 ).

I assumed that everyone that wanted a Freak, got them for $53 with the 4ah battery and charger?

I had thought Lowe's was selling them that cheap because there was a new generation coming out, but it's still just the Gen 3. (Edit: I'm mistaken.... in image it looks like a different version I'm not familiar with.)

Bosch will keep them in their lineup for now... but if there is something new coming out next year, ( something that might, theoretically, be an impulse driver design) then I assume these will be discontinued.

Either way, these aren't bad as impact drivers (They're more durable than the overhyped dcf850). On paper and in testing they don't measure our well, but at the end of the day, they maintain a stability that other impact drivers lack. Torque and speed become moot at a certain point, but they sure do sucker people into buying things based solely upon that.

Next year is going to be an awesome year for Bosch. By 2023 they could dominate the NA market by word of mouth alone. It all depends on what products that have been in testing, end up getting released. 😉😎

I have one of these I got as part of a set with a hammer drill. I wouldn't buy this model again unless all I was doing is driving deck screws, or it was $50. It's too powerful/fast for most applications. It doesn't have an adjustable speed like the GDX18V-1800C. I've been looking for a good deal on a lower torque impact driver.

Thanks, I am wondering what is the difference between the 2 models, this helps!

yeah got the GDX18V-1800C , a few of those on the last lowes deal. Really like it,
Adjustable does come in handy for stainless (which you can twist off really easy going into hardwood then framing). Lighter, more compact, and more power than previous non brushless model for sure. Just drove probably ~4000 screws with one, framing and hardwood decking (predrilled tho, but huge), exceptional battery life too.

Got the Bosch Freak 1800C (gen 2) with the 4 ah plus charger for $54 when they were clearing them out for the new model. Great battery, strong enough impact for light lugs. 👍

True, I've found Bosch tools to outperform tools with better strict metrics.

Would love a pulse driver. I was disappointed when the concept didn't seem to catch on when Makita, Milwaukee, and Ridgid came out with decent pulse drivers a few years ago. I think it's another case of the numbers on paper (torque rating and IPM) winning buyers more than actual performance.

I didn't see any Gen 2 models during that time. Just the Gen 3 (the one with Bluetooth adapter slot and the red HD.)

Yeah, you want the "HD" model with Bluetooth connector on handle, and speed/light selection on base. It's a much better overall choice if you have the option.

Yeah, hype seems to beat quality when it comes to the "Team _____" tool users. *Stares disappointingly at Dewalt*.

I also think people want loud tools because they equate that to power. So the oil based drivers being much quieter would trick those who didn't know better into thinking it was weaker.

Or, they'd see a YouTube video where people drive in lags and say "whoa, it took 2 seconds longer to drive in an 8inch lag.

Just used this yesterday changing from summer to winter wheels. Good enough for lugs for light cars.
