This is a very 2007 comment, but yes, they're very squishy. So much so, that a lack of lateral support and the way they get slippery with sweat has prevented me from owning any. My kids live by them, though. So easy to clean, they float, and they're fairly durable.

My theory is these got really popular about 10 years ago, just as Colorado legalized weed.

Way beyond coincidence.

Yes they are very comfortable. Yes they are made of plastic (foam) but so are Adidas boosts and pretty much every modern athletic shoe on the planet. Yes they are worn by people on their feet all day; like doctors, nurses, everybody in the kitchen at a restaurant. Yes they are very ugly.

Anybody can pick up tail looking their best. Question is: can you pull wearing Crocks?

This particular style isn't really the best if you don't need the fully covered top for work. They don't breathe well and make for sweaty feet. Get the vented originals and wear them around the house so random people can't see you wearing extremely comfortable but ugly shoes because what strangers think about you is SOOOOO important. Then, when you grow up and your junk is no longer child size, you can wear them outside and radiate some BDE and finally get laid.. . . because confidence is sexy, shoes aren't.

If you live somewhere hot, vent. If cold, no vent. If you walk on gravel/sand/similar, the vents are a way for stuff to get in and under your foot.

Don't go small with Crocs, you want a little space around your foot regardless of which style you choose.
