Most of the bad reviews are related to their customer support. As one of the posters mentioned for $5, you can't expect much.

I had GREAT service for about a year until a few months ago my data speed tanked to less than 1mbps

Is that a local tower issue or does the problem follow your phone regardless of location?

Have you tried contacting T-Mobile directly to see if they have recently done work on the tower(s) close to your home address?
