Chase can deny an application too if you have 5 or more credit cards in the past two years with anyone, not just Chase.

IMO, the way their policies are set up for price matching and colleagues who work at Amazon...Its making me want to shop less at Amazon and more at B&M stores...they are more of a reactive dealer than proactive compared to B&M stores when it comes to deals.

The more we give to Amazon the less support B&M will be proactive in giving good deals and in turn, Amazon will be less reactive to match B&M deals (as another slickdealer in a different thread pointed out).
Dont get me wrong that promo is tempting, just personally cant pull the trigger for the reasons above.

Edit: approved. 200 gift card. Only a 5000 limit though.

o well,

ill just be using this at amazon for the 5% back anyway and paying the bill in full each month.

Immediately approved for $5000.

Yet funnily enough I applied for the Chase Freedom Flex a week ago and only got a $3000 limit even though I was pre-approved with a high credit score and a 10-year banking relationship with Chase.

Both of these cards are provided by Chase, yet I got a higher limit on my 2nd approval days later? Weird

If you need a higher limit, you can transfer a portion (or all, if closing it) of your credit limit from another Chase credit card to your Amazon card
