I believe this is the same one as the front page deal at Ace.

I have lots of black and decker 20V tools and they aren't bad for basic homeowner but if all you need is a drill, wait on a $25 Ryobi recondition deal.

B&D batteries are weak compared to P&C batteries.

I've had my b&d for years. I make and sell wood crafts, farmhouse tables, planters, etc. I've used the drill, the driver on the interchangeable ones, circular saw, chain saw & weedeater. The drill and driver are great and still going strong! Everything else is garbage. As far as batteries go, 2 are great but I have another one that just goes out incredibly fast.

It's the same company and they're compatible if you remove a small notch.

I agree with the sentiments about the batteries being weak and wearing out too fast.

Wondering if the Chinese generic ones sold on Amazon are any better?

I bought a similar B&D drill in 2017 for the same price and I tell you that is my go-to drill. I only use it for light to medium duty stuff: drywall, plaster, or wood. It can probably do aluminum in a pinch. It's super quiet and very light and the battery for me lasts quite a while, being that it's 4 years old now. It will drive a screw in pretty good, too. I've abused this thing so much that it's worth it even if you pay full price.
