PS5 requires a gen 4 PCIe NVME drive. This is gen 3. PS5 will refuse to format this drive. If it had a Gen 4 interface but was under recommended speed specs the PS5 would still attempt to use it with a warning but gen 3 interface is denied altogether. This is a good deal but not for PS5 owners. Its plenty fast for almost all imaginable consumer use scenarios.

SK Hynix makes their own memory. They're one of the largest memory manufacturers - others being Samsung, Kioxia (ex-Toshiba) and Micron. SK Hynix isn't that well known as a direct to consumer company since they tend to focus more on a B2B model.

I know I grabbed the 1 tber on Prime day for a hundred dollars. I'm sure it will be that again on BF. This should be a little cheaper as well I would think.

I wish I had bought this instead of the Samsung 970 Plus 2tb, I have the 1tb version of these with no issues, at the time the 970 plus was cheaper and this one never came down from $279, I wish I have waited a little, this is a good deal!

Amazon does not price match and you lose any promotions if you applied it to the purchase. SO you would have to return and buy a new one... yes i know but its "policy"...

Theyre both very comparable when it comes to performance. If your using a laptop then i would recommend SK hynix over samsung because of the less power draw, otherwise its personal preference (if theyre at the same price point).

Very much so, it's one of the better options for laptops due the lower power draw for overall usage compared to Samsung Evo Plus and other drives at the same price point. You can find a few reviews on this, but I notice slightly better battery life but that could just be a placebo of me thinking it makes a difference lol.

AFAIK this is the best Gen 3 NVME drive for laptops for thermals. It had a 20% off coupon a month ago but im not sure we'll see that again, so im biting at 15% off.
