I don't see this as a smart TV so I wouldn't compare it to Target Element unless you think the picture quality of this one is better and that's what matters most.

Sceptre is the only TV manufacturer that sells non-smart(dumb) TV's.

Keep in mind, this TV has no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth built-in, which may be good or bad for some people. 4808 Walmart reviews, 982 gave in 2 stars or less. Never owned this brand, I cant comment on quality.

I've had this TV for several years now and it does ok, but quality's not that great especially with blacks as there is some noticeable backlight screen bleeding. The 60hz is not native so not as sharp as you'd hope, at least back when I got it. Basically don't expect super high quality from this unit.

I'm actually looking at trying to get the Target one since it has HDR10, it's bigger, has native 60Hz, and cheap.

Every tv is non smart tv if you dont connect it to your router. I understand people being weary of spying, but then they plug in multiple devices and streaming stick to the tv that are connected to the internet which spy on you.

What's the difference? Is it noticable?

I think it's cute how everyone believes they have interesting enough lives that someone is certainly spying on them. lol

Looking for a 50 inch 4K TV for $150. Not seeing anything this year, past years it was so easy to find Roku TVS for 50-55 inch for $150 at Target, Bestbuy, Walmart various brands as a door buster. Nothing this year. I will settle for a 43 even for $150 non smart is fine as well.

I'd like a bigger tv and have never had a new one so im interested in this. I already have Apple TV and a fire stick as well as a sound bar so I'm thinking that it's totally fine but it's not a smart TV. Still I am somewhat wary. Does anyone have any ideas about whether I should wait for something else?

Same here I have had it for years. Quality was fine. I had no problems with it. But technology has improved over the years so a new one would be much better. I love that this is not a Smart TV. I never use those functions anyway just as a Monitor for my Desktop and Laptops.

Glad this did not come up till now. I just bought a $398 one with QLED for even better blacks but this supposedly does fine on that. No doubt not as good as the one I ordered. But for $150 less I might well have gotten this instead.

The biggest problem I have with Smart TV's is they do not update the software and sometimes it is inferior to the stick you can buy. It is way too YMMV for me.

I don't think it's an earth shattering difference, but this TV is from like 2016 or 2017 so as someone else said the technology has improved for these cheaper sets to provide better quality pictures.

I've owned this TV brand before and was very disappointed with the picture quality, i.e. too saturated colors and even with personal settings it's still a no go for me. Really good price but not in a hurry to get a new TV for now.

Like others have commented, this is a very basic TV for a reasonable price. You get what you pay for- you won't be blown away by the picture, glare is not the best, and there is the usual backlight bleed. But for $248, it's not a bad little 55" for a spare bedroom or something.
