"The Department of Homeland Security in 2017 barred U.S. civilian agencies from using products made by antivirus firm Kaspersky, citing "ties between certain Kaspersky officials and Russian intelligence and other government agencies." Kaspersky has denied any "inappropriate ties" with any government. The National Defense Authorization Act enacted that year expanded the scope of the ban to any third-party products embedded with Kaspersky code."

I have 2 PCs to install antivirus. Can I buy a "Bitdefender 2 Year/5PCs Download" and use the other 3 licenses once the existing licenses expire on the same laptops ?
Also what will be the order of best performing antivirus from the list above ?
Thanks

If I buy this can I renew early and just lose a few days? I actually only have 9 days left on my annual sub. Can I use this and replace my existing sub?

For those considering their options, consider a threat analysis: what is the likelihood of the security software vendor facilitating government spying for that country's government and what are the potential ramifications in your particular situation? Assuming the Kaspersky claims/concerns are true, users in Russia may prefer to avoid Kaspersky given they fall under the jurisdiction of the Russian government and may be monitored/targeted accordingly. On the other hand, individual American users (outside of those in government service) are likely to have little to fear from the Russian government, with US intelligence having more of a vested interest in monitoring/targeting their activities.
Personally, I prefer Kaspersky IS/TS, which is consistently ranked among the best by AV-Comparatives and AV-Test. But if you're concerned about Russian government ties, BitDefender is also a great (and cheaper) option that's HQ'd in Romania, making it somewhat removed from the primary players in the cyber-spying game.
