Pretty much sure you bought FX706HE with 3050Ti (reg $999, was on sale for $799)
This one is FX706HC with 3050 (not Ti version, reg $899, on sale $679)

The title of this deal states 3050 Ti. It should be 3050, not the Ti version.

Edit: OP corrected the title

I'm trying to get the wife a laptop for editing photos, would this be reasonable? Or would it be a grueling process, her current very old laptop makes editing each photo take 10-15 minutes due to being soooo slow when it should take a minute or two.
The screen color is very inaccurate, that's the main drawback. Plus being a gaming laptop means it will have pretty bad battery life and weigh quite a bit. Just some things to keep in mind.

Any good for video 4K or Insta360 5k editing ?
Screen good for 4K movies?
Does it support anything close to Dolby Vision quality video?
& I know Optical drives are pretty much gone.. but I do have a 4k Disc collection and a couple in Dolby Vision..
Do they even have any 4K-Blu-Ray Optical Drives on Laptops at all? Or space for one?

This should be good for that. Going to Windows 10 will be a big pain. I still use Windows 7 in most of my computers. And you may (will) also want to put in a 1-2 TB SSD if there is room. Since it is a 17" there should be. You want to keep all your data on another drive just in case your boot drive bites the dust. And also back up your data drive often with a portable drive. Also you will want to bump up the memory to 16GB or 32GB if you can afford it.
Using Windows 7 and advising others to use it, in 2021, is foolish, at best. Take a look at the list of security vulnerabilities in just a single monthly Windows 10 security update.

32GB is also unnecessary for most use cases right now, including gaming. Unless you just like throwing money away.

Correct me if I'm wrong, this does appear to have an ethernet port, per the photos, but of course the BB description does not mention it

5K editing? 4K BR drive? Are you talking 'bout same TUF, or should I say are you talking 'bout laptops in general?

The minimum specification for Dolby Vision mastering requires the use of reference monitors with a contrast ratio of 200,000:1, peak brightness of 1000 nits, colour range 'approaching' the Rec 2020 standard, and support for the SMPTE ST-2084 HDR format.
Nowadays "4K" looks like "no hdmi" not that long ago Wave

Well it was a good deal, and that kind of deals should be dealing on "buy first think later " bases nowadays. If it will make you feel better, I had it in cart since last night and missed it too Smilie

Even if it was the same model, Best Buy will not price match because it's for sale on eBay. Doesn't matter that it's Best Buy selling it, they consider it a third party vendor.

I see.. Thanks for this info.. Smilie

Would this be sufficient to run games like Half Life Alyx via Oculus Air Link and/or Virtual Desktop on my Quest?
Welp, according to the Oculus website, this will do it. I was just able to place the order, so I figured as others have said, buy first, decide whether I need it later. Thanks, OP!

Really wish this had higher brightness than 250 nits.. I'm on the fence..
Would absolutely pull trigger on it if higher, my amex has both a 10% & the $200 off from Dell loaded.. 🤔
