Pretty much sure you bought FX706HE with 3050Ti (reg $999, was on sale for $799)
This one is FX706HC with 3050 (not Ti version, reg $899, on sale $679)

The title of this deal states 3050 Ti. It should be 3050, not the Ti version.

Edit: OP corrected the title

Other reviews seem to mention sub-par battery. Is that one of the only negatives?

I'm trying to get the wife a laptop for editing photos, would this be reasonable? Or would it be a grueling process, her current very old laptop makes editing each photo take 10-15 minutes due to being soooo slow when it should take a minute or two.
If you are using photoshop, the 17 inch on this laptop will be very useful as the photoshop interface is quite clunky. Speed wise this will be great due to graphics card. Large 500gd ssd will also good for photoshop's scratch disk. Go get it!

Really wish this had higher brightness than 250 nits.. I'm on the fence..
Would absolutely pull trigger on it if higher, my amex has both a 10% & the $200 off from Dell loaded.. 🤔
Wish I had amex, combine with 10% off mail-in it was no-brainer deal.
$700 for this rig is nothing nowadays.
But... I don't have amex AND deal is over, so... Peace

Need some advise here.. I'm getting a gaming laptop for my son who going to college soon and this laptop specs is perfect compared to the MSI thin BF from walmart.

The only thing is, this asus is 17 inch, I'm not sure if there is even a laptop backpack that can fit it. And also heavier compared to the msi. Anyone knows?

Forget 'bout using this panel for anything that required color accuracy, you WILL need external monitor w/right color gamut - and then yes, it will work smooth and fast.

Why does it matter? Gaming laptops are intrinsically battery hoggers.

Difficult to find any information on this unit. I suggest you buy it and then take it back if it doesn't work. This is a killer deal and my grandson's friends are buying this unit.
I have a flip 15 that is all metal, so I cannot comment on the case. But at this price I think it would be plastic.

The 8GB is supposed to be in one stick, with one slot empty. So anyone on a budget who wants 16GB, just buy one 8GB module. Otherwise, you can get 32GB 3200 CL22 pretty cheap, probably $105 [newegg.com]. Personally, I already have some 2666 sitting around I will use, and wait til CM to see if some deal arises.

Which brand of 8GB module is good for this laptop ? I just want to expand it to 16GB on budget.

Crucial RAM 8GB DDR4 3200 MHz CL22 Laptop Memory CT8G4SFRA32A https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08C4Z6...KZ0FAE5ES9

Is this one good ?
Thank you

Yeah man. I don't have Amex, altho my BofA Visa had 5% back.

I did the math… after 10% from email sign up, 8% from a cash back site that sounds like "Hadouken", the 5% CB from the visa + tax it still turned out the g15 would be around $300 more depending on whether tax is charged on full price or not. Probably worth it, but $300 pays for the eGPU dock, so…

But eh; the g15 deal is gone so my decision was made anyway. 👍

Keeping my fingers crossed that this 3050 TUF has TB4…

EDIT: I realized I had added the accidental drop insurance. If I had just bought the base one I might have been better off with the G15.
