Just FYI...

several threads on these... if you have a grandfathered plan, you can add these cameras. If not grandfathered, storage for XT2 is via subscription - the later versions can save via to Module 2 and forgo subscription for storage.

For what its worth, I got the 2 for $20 deal last week for the indoor cams, selected "used acceptable" and got four cameras still sealed in the box in perfect condition

Someone posted this on an earlier thread regarding the xt2 and subscription. So basically any xt, xt2 and 1st gen indoor will have free cloud storage. It doesn't matter when the account is created.

You don't lose the free cloud storage for the XT2 cameras. The trial plan is for your Minis only. When it ends, your Minis will have limited functionality unless you either subscribe or use local USB storage with a Sync Module 2. Your XT2 cameras always have 7200s free cloud storage regardless.

What if I don't want to subscribe to the subscription plan or use Local Storage?
Without a subscription plan or free trial, your Blink system can only send motion alerts that connect you to that camera's Live View in the Blink App.Accounts that were created before April 15, 2020, can use their existing cloud storage as normal with newer cameras, but some features are only available with a subscription (or free trial subscription).

How does Local Storage work?
You can purchase a new system that includes the Blink Sync Module 2 and insert a USB flash drive (sold separately) to allow a once-daily backup of clips in cloud storage. Clip backups do not appear in the Blink app. You must eject the USB drive from the Sync Module 2 and view the clips on your computer.

Those 2 things pretty much kill this deal for me.
That last part is out of date. Since an update a while back, clips on local storage are accessible right from the app. But note that the XT2 cameras so not support local storage at all. They are strictly cloud storage and come with 7200 seconds free for life. Blink Minis and other models do support local USB storage with a Sync Module 2 (this deal comes with a 1 though despite the listing).

Blink is not discontinued and just released a new video doorbell. These particular XT2 model cameras are discontinued (no longer sold "new," although in my experience based on multiple orders the ones from this deal appear new). They are still supported and come with the free 7200 seconds cloud storage for life.

Someone earlier in this thread mentioned that the Blink app allows you to record the liveview feed when you have it opened. If that's true, that's a way to use local storage and not have to rely on the 7200s cloud storage. Dedicate an older tablet with a good amount sdcard and have it record your livestreams. My order won't arrive until this Saturday…not sure why it's taking this long since I ordered when this deal was first posted and I live not even 10 mins away from an Amazon distribution center. Anyway, I have a couple of Android TV boxes with Play Store and a spare monitor that I might turn into a camera system. Hopefully it will work as I had envisioned.

Doesnt matter if you get sync module 2 if you receive XTC cameras like these that only do cloud storage.
