Good deal on a tri-ply clad similar in performance to Cuisinart's MuliClad Pro and All Clad's D3.

Has a helper handle and the sides are sloped more gently than other pans making it similar to a shallow wok style which sacrifices a bit of the flat surface area.

Inner diameter measures: 8.5 in. or 21 cm.

Lifetime Warranty

Also available at Home Depot [homedepot.com] for $32.97 with free shipping.
The photos on Home Depot are incorrect showing a pan with steeper sides. It will be the pan as shown on Amazon with the gentler sides.

It sticks only because you lack the knowledge and experience in how to cook with a stainless steel pan.
For anyone interested, you may also want to consider Kirkland 5-ply cookware from Costco. It's $200 for 6 pans/pots, $33 for each.
I received this from Home Depot and it looks like the pictures from Amazon so the pictures on Home Depot are wrong/misleading.

This will have the gentler sloped sides as seen on the Amazon pictures.

I mentioned this in my original post, but I guess the mods removed the info when they posted it to the front page.

Also some more info that was removed: because of the gentle sloped sides the flat cooking surface area is a little small for 12" pan.

Inner Diameter measures: 8.5 in. or 21 cm.

Is the bottom of the pan flat? I have a set of Cuisinart 3-ply, but even with the extreme care with witch I've used them, they're all bowed. Some were bowed right out of the box. Some have pitting problems. I'm ready to trash them all. Never buy Cuisinart 3-ply.

Yup, perfectly flat and no defects on mine

First of all - people can of course do whatever they want, in their own way, when it comes to cooking.

However, general advice- If this is what you want to do with a pan, I'd recommend just getting carbon steel. It's cheaper and made for this. Seasoning won't stick well to stainless steel because it's so smooth and will come off super easily, and …
Any recommendation for a carbon steel 12" frying pan that doesn't warp?
I have a carbon steel wok and its problem is its not completely flat at the bottom. Thats fine if you have gas stove but not for induction as its difficult to get it to really heat up. Also I've seen it get rust a bit on carbon steel which I have never seen on my ss items

Yes and from time to time they do a $20 off deal on it as well. Kicking mysefl for not getting it last time. I dont see much at my local bay area costco though. I hope they are not phasing it out

Is that Costco set 18/10 steel?

It's a fry pan so it has a flat bottom.

I think Cuisinart has a lifetime warranty so if you aren't able to return them you should be able to get them replaced under warranty.
Yes. I've had multiple Cuisinart pots and pans replaced for the pitting problem, but I haven't tried to get them replaced for the bowing problem. I'll try that after the Holidays. Thank you.

Kirkland sets are good. We got an 8 piece set of their Italian made All-Clad clones, 20 years ago, around $120. Great set. Used daily. Got a set for the kids a few years ago. Not Italian. Not All-Clad styling. But, very nice. Around $150.

While I agree with most of what you suggest, the irony of the $289.95 Demeyere 12" SS fry pan vs this $32.95 Tramontina 12" SS fry pan is they both have a rating of 4.5 stars on Amazon.

I also have multiple pieces of Allclad and Tramontina and I can't tell which brand I'm using when cooking with induction. Personally I'd save the $257 difference. Finally, this pan is made in Brazil, and like the Demeyere, has shallow sloped sides.

Thank you. Your generalization that mid-priced cookware, from decent brands, can perform as well as the snob brands, I've found to be accurate. That said, the real budget lines, like Tools of the Trade, and similar, are not very good. I've gotten great stainless and all types of cast iron, without having to pay for a name. It pays to shop around, evaluate the quality, and spring when they meet your budget. Cookware is always available.

Google seasoning a stainless steel pan. I also used to do it wrong.
Seasoning doesn't stay on stainless steel. You need to make it hot and avoid things like eggs. Surface is too smooth without imperfections, also why they call it "stainless" steel. You can spend like 20 minutes of your day "seasoning" it but it will get obliterated by any cleaning, unless you like eating caked on crap but that's all you.

I have the DeBuyer Mineral B from Amazon. It's heavier than some other pans but I really like it. Even the Ballanari that is cheaper works well but is a bit thinner overall.

Carbon steel WILL rust just like cast iron if the seasoning is taken off. It is easily remedied by wiping on and heating some oil until it starts smoking and continue until the smoking stops. You'll add a new layer of seasoning. Avoid abrasives or strong dish soaps and you're good to go!

Good luck!

Please just google it on YouTube. It is not the same as the seasoning that we put on cast iron.

I have and I tried, doesn't work. Great for one egg and see how it goes long-term. You probably just bought the pan. Stainless/carbon steel for non-stick purposes, this for everything else. Don't try to make one pan an all purpose option

It works if you do it right. You are correct on buying carbon steel as well, great addition and inexpensive.

You don't season stainless steel pans, that's for cast iron cookware. You just don't crank the heat up to 11, then food won't stick.

.
Me too. Stainless saucepans are fine on low heat, but I tend to burn stuff in stainless skillets that obviously has a lot to do with the heat. I do better with cast or high carbon.

Meanwhile, I refuse to buy another skillet that does not have a lid available.
