Got this laptop a week ago and went today to the store to price match it. I bought a second identical 4gb module and this thing is fast. The processor benchmarks almost as good as another i5 10th gen that I have. SSD is low end and small but is enough for what I need this laptop. If you are ok with 128 gb don't spend money on a SSD, real life performance will be almost the same.

Screen colors are dull, keyboard crappy and construction filmsy, but that is expected at this price point.

FYI even though HP site says it has 2666 memory it actually comes with a 3200 one, a Samsung m471a5244cb0

Does it have an extra M2 slot for SSD stick? I have a spare NVME Micron ssd 256G and plan to add to it . Should it be used with the existing ssd? A few laptop can only take one or another.

Thx.
It does not have a second M.2 slot.

I bet you are getting a bunch of responses and questions. Would you mind sharing the battery life on it? Assuming you had the previous model, it should be similar
I did not test the battery. It is identical to the battery that was in the Wal-Mart model, though.

You should get a NVMe SSD, not a SATA one.

Will this be a decent laptop to run Amazon Work Space? Mostly will be used as needed to do work on the go, running off cell phone hot spot. Just not sure if it would be too slow or laggy. Thanks in advance!

Do you care about the GPU? The i5 has 80 EUs and the i3 only 48. And the Lenovo has a touchscreen, if you care about that sort of thing. You can upgrade the RAM and storage to match the HP with the Lenovo, but those two things can't be changed.

I have an 8GB DDR4 2666 stick and a 256GB m.2 NMVE SSD lying around that should fit into this laptop I think.

Stuck in S mode after swiching to 10 home? I was under the impression the change is permanent but this review states otherwise:

"worst purchase I have made. I had really high hopes. Laptop comes with windows 10 S Mode witch limits you unless you switch out. I switched Out and then my computer had an upgrade and the laptop went back to S mode and now won't let me out. I have had it less than 24 hours."
I have a feeling that is user error. I haven't researched this enough but that seems super unlikely it works as this person thinks it does.

Is this one better deal? I know the price difference about $60 but wondering if it's better overall?

Target is better if you plan upgrading ram and SSD. Ram and SSD are so cheap.

Yea, that should work, though I personally wouldn't go for that model.

NVMe drives can range from around $75 to $125 for 1TB, depending on performance characteristics. If you want to go high-end, the P31 Gold is currently going for $110 after coupon, and it is hands-down the best SSD for a laptop. On the lower end, something like the WD SN550 (has been on sale for $80 a few times) will be fine (and still better than the SATA one you had linked earlier; almost all NVMe SSDs will outperform a SATA one).
