Target is better if you plan upgrading ram and SSD. Ram and SSD are so cheap.
Thanks! I end up getting this.

Like it so far. Nice display and Very responsive. It's unlikely someone changed to a Samsung nvme ssd and returned it. It's actually not that easy to take the back off without leaving a single mark for this laptop. Both laptops had perfect case. Can Anyone has it check what ssd you have in it?
My guess is that, when manufacturing, they just use whatever parts they have in stock. Like the specs say that the RAM is supposed to be 2666, but as manufacturing matures and memory makers discontinue slower speeds, they might've only had 3200 in their inventory. Similarly, they might've run out of SATA SSDs and threw in a NVMe SSD instead. It's not like there's an appreciable price difference between the two types these days, and I imagine that NVMe has a lot more volume production than SATA in this day and age.

In any case, mine had a Kingston-branded SATA M.2.

What about adding one 8GB stick?
That should work fine.

A couple years ago my Mom got the Costco laptop deal and it came with one 4 gig stick. We upgraded to 2 x 8 gig Crucial kit. Shockingly, one of the sticks died. Sent back in under warranty and put back in the 4 gig stick, so now running at 12 gigs. Since I don't like opening laptops like this too often it's been happily running 4 + 8 memory configuration. Ideally one would run matched RAM sticks, but you don't have to.

I have yet to pick mine up but I may cancel target order for this staples deal.

Same processor, more ram, hard-drive, screen , wifi 6. For 100 more and windows 11. I'm sure there are more. Still an hp

$130 more. But hmm, wonder if that one would be better. Then there is the one posted in that thread too at Best Buy.

I think the value of the additional stuff is not that much considering prices for those things keep dropping - or you use spares or used components.

If you don't plan on upgrading ram or ssd then this 14 model is perfect. I was planning on upgrading the internals.

Super deal. GOT 2. Each came out to be $230 each. RED CARD -5% military they gave was 15% so a total of 20% off with Military i.d or Uniform should work. That price is with tax, have in mind YMMV, I got them and they went OOS once I got there. The target website says the discount can be used only 2 times per yer/per corporate. The performance is stupendous. They said that each target is different and it's at the Managers discretion to provide the %. However even with the red card it's a steal. Good find

Yeah I was probably going to put 8gb ram in it and have a 256 ssd I can use. I just picked it up right before seeing that. I'll think on it.

Forces you to have an internet connection, forces Microsoft account. The Start button is in the middle for no good reason. There are NO new features. It's basically a MS power grab.
I clean install Win 10 LTSC when I have time with new laptops.

This is all wrong. You don't need an internet connection. It doesn't force you to have the start button in the middle as you can move it.

The new features are that it's dropping legacy support for a number of services in favor of modernizing the OS and user experience.

Can someone tell me if this laptop is capable of adding dual external monitors? It has SuperSpeed USB Type-C® port, featuring 5Gbps signaling data rate. But some of the hp laptop don't support display with usbc.

Which is a better bang for your buck -- this laptop or the HP AMD Athlon from Target for $180 from a few weeks ago -- https://slickdeals.net/f/15369016-hp-laptop-14-1366x768-athlon-gold-3150u-4gb-ddr4-ram-128gb-ssd-180-free-shipping#comments
I bought that other AMD one but haven't opened it yet. I just need it for internet, Netflix, MS Office, and remote desktop for work, not for gaming. Thanks!
