How many nits? Upgradeable ram?

Looks like it's 11th gen i7. The ram upgrade might be the deal breaker.

Edit:. I assume its 250 nits, with an upgradeable slot up to 16gb max.

In these laptops, they have either 4GB soldered or 8GB soldered with one slot.

I'd assume an 8GB soldered, but I have no idea.

The only config from factory with 12gb is with 8gb soldered and a 4gb so-dimm in an upgradeable slot.

Usb-c, but no thunderbolt. The Walmart Swift 3 @$500 still seems like the only mid-cheapish laptop with this.

I'm a pc noob. Can the usb-c from this laptop still handle docking station that outputs to multiple external monitors?

It can be a bit of a crapshoot, but the answer is usually yes. Some docks adhere to the thunderbolt standard (all-in-one connection) and this will not work on those docks. You are usually ok with one monitor that connects directly or with a non-thunderbolt dock. Also, thunderbolt guarantees you can change with a generic USBC charger.

Just as an FYI, I do not believe this is an IPS display panel. I actually purchased it, and before opening, looked at the specs tag on the box and it says LCD 15.6 FHD WV. I tried chatting in to Asus Support and they couldn't tell me for sure whether it was IPS or not, but after looking through some Asus forums, they are saying it is not because the specs tag on Asus laptops with IPS display will specify it is an IPS display. I think this is similar to the WVA terminology that Dell uses, which is still a TN panel and not IPS.

If someone can prove me wrong, and maybe has purchased this and opened it, please let us know if this is an IPS or TN/other type of panel.
