I got the shark AI vacuum yesterday and promptly returned it today.
Few thoughts
* connectivity was a breeze
* Excellent build quality
And that's where the good stuff ended
* It has LiDAR, but it's a joke. I set the robot in explore mode, hoping it would map out our 2nd floor, and boy was I disappointed; the shark came out, took a spin(rotated) 4 feet from the base station, and decided it had enough and declared it's done mapping.
* First of all, the room map is so incomplete; I can't even say it tried.
* Secondly, it decided the satires and lower level is also part of the map. Maybe it couldn't detect where the second floor ended.
* Third, I don't think you can have multiple floor plans. You will have to delete the existing one in order to add a new one.
* I also had a shark camera-based self-empty model on sale for ~$280, which I had better luck with, but would not listen when I wanted it to vacuum a specific room. It would always clean everywhere. While I could not get that far, I am not very confident it will work as intended.
Maybe I got a dud, but my 3-year Roomba 980 seems to do a better job.
I will try i8+ tomorrow, which is far more expensive, but I guess you get what you pay for.

I too bought and returned it in February.. you are not alone. I took i8+ and i am happy. I wish roomba had the lidar sensors. But then i8+ is reliable, and spares are cheap.

Can be run at night where the i7 cannot.
A decent mopping ability too.
$130 cheaper.
The biggest con is it's 1 year warranty where Costco is practically lifetime.
So it comes down to the long-term quality of ecovacs done they only have a 1 year warranty
How come you say Costco is lifetime warranty? Thanks!
