Thanks for reminder that Affinity often has 50% which I took advantage in the past to get the other two purchases. That's why I said I'm throwing away money at 30%
my two cents: I used to exclusively use Photoshop. After seeing similar deals last year, I purchased Affinity Designer at 50% off. I just cannot get used to it. Things that are common and very straightforward in PS become unnecessarily confusing and complicated, and I need to just through hoops to get them done. In fact, I often need to go to affinity forums to look for answers, and under similar questions other people ask (posted by those who also seem to come from Photoshop), I find instructions that usually consist of multiple steps for a simple task which do not even always solve the exact problem. And some features are simply missing.
So basically you get what you pay for. If you are unsure you should spend $25 or $37.99, definitely do the 30-day trial and see if it satisfies your needs.

Pretty much this. I love Affinity and purchased Affinity Photo when it was $25. While I see it's potential, I've not used it much due to the unintuitive nature of the app. I can see it being a great tool if I invest lots of time to learn it. But I don't have time for that. It pains me to say that I would choose Gimp over Affinity Photo to make simple layer edits. I really want to like Affinity Photo, but I just can't get into it.

$15.99 for folks with an .edu email address. And theyll renew it year after year, just chat with them and tell them youll cancel if they dont.
Might hold off to see if they do the normal 50% off.
That said, if I understand correctly from reading their Help & Support section, the PC/Mac versions of their apps just install using a product/serial key and email address, and you can install them on as many computers as you've got. For those that already own this software is that correct?

Yep, this is my experience as well. Adobe products is definitively superior but this is a fraction of the price and I would say about 70% of the equivalent Adobe product.

for the small price paid for lifetime software doesn't look a fair comparison. may be for a professional photographer, who makes enough $$$ to afford the annual adobe $$$ , adobe wins.
All the learners, amateurs or hobbyists, this is the best editing softwares to hone the skills and may be more than sufficient for the usage.
I switched to affinity 2-3 years back, and for my usage , i was literally robbed by adobe, wish I knew affinity earlier.
