In short: $400 off on the phone. Port in a number to Metro, get A52 for $100 + tax + $60 first month service fee for unlimited plan.

Retail price $499, I don't see any major retailers offering discount without trade in/bill credit.

There is a separate promotion trade in a phone and get $25/month unlimited plan. Getting this promotion will likely change the phone discount. Once trade in agreement is signed, there is no way to cancel.

Phone automatically unlocks after 180 days. Active service not required. Only need to pay one month service fee. Go to a corporate store to avoid activation fee and other fees. Authorized dealer tends to have many hidden fees, such as insurance, phone case. In store experience is highly YMMV, stores make up their own rules.

Phone spec:
- 5G capable
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G 5G
- 6GB RAM
- 6.5" HD+ TFT, 1080 x 2400 pixels, 20:9 ratio (~407 ppi density)
- 4500mAh battery with Fast Charge
- 64MP OIS quad camera system
- 128GB memory (expandable up to 1TB)
- IP67 dust/water resistant (up to 1m for 30 mins)
- Corning Gorilla Glass 5

Terms:
Limited time offer, in-store only while supplies last. Req. eligible port, ID validation & activation on $60/mo. plan. Receive $400 instant rebate of retail price. Additional restrictions apply. Tax on pre-rebate price. See store for details.

Samsung Galaxy A52 Switcher Instant PLUS Rebate: For a limited time & while supplies last, at participating Metro by T-Mobile stores, purchase a Samsung Galaxy A52 and port-in an eligible wireless number to a Metro $60/mo. plan and receive an instant $400 rebate off the full retail price of $499.99 with validation of name, address, and date of birth provided through independent database and with matching identification. Excludes numbers active on the T-Mobile/MetrobyT-Mobile in past 180 days. Limit two (2) total smartphone instant rebates per account/household. Provided in form of credit against regular purchase price and have no cash value. See store associate for complete details. Tax due on pre-rebate price. Certain restrictions apply. No rain checks.

After a really bad experience at a local Corporate Store when porting in my RedPocket's ATT number, and trade in to get OnePlus Nord N10 5G two weeks ago, after putting in some thoughts and going through many reviews, I went back to the same corporate store today to port in another number. This time I asked to get the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G at the best deal. Like always, they try to upsell and/or try to sell at the most money. I then showed the website ad for A52 for $99 with port-in + $60 monthly, along with another ad for $30 for adding second line. I reminded them of the terrible experience last time, and this new/different guy was so nice and polite; he said he remembered it was a different colleague and apologized on his behalf. The manager was right next to him, and since the manager also remembered Wink she was being extra nice to me and told me about several promotions that could save me more money, including one that was $40 monthly for two 5G unlimited lines, and I just needed to add the second line via port in. And few minutes later, apologized and said that promo expired yesterday. Oh well, it seemed I couldn't get the phone for $99 + $30 as second line. So, to not waste more time, I asked to get the $99 phone +$60 monthly as advertised on their website. They told me that was the best deal, and I couldn't get any lower plan. I took their words with a grain of salt, told them they were awesome compared to my previous encounter with a different rep, thanked them and paid $176 for phone +1 month + insurance. One thing that could probably have saved me some money was to add the second port in line to my primary account, for $30 monthly. But they told me adding second line to my account with port in would actually increase my monthly by about $10, with a weird grin on his face; what a load of crap. So, he actually insisted on my getting that purchase on a second account; I said ok.

I came home, called customer service right away, and told the lady my two encounters with Metro corporate store, and asked her to confirm the statements by the rep at the store. She was shocked and apologized for the bad experience at the store. She told me adding line should actually save me money. Then she checked and merged my two lines to my primary account, reducing monthly for the second line from $60 to $60, instantly saving me $30 per month. She was also able to remove insurance which I didn't ask for at the store, crediting to my account.

Lesson learned - if corporate stores extort money from you with upsells + higher/more expensive plans, fraudulent statement, call customer service to verify and they can fix things in your favor. Even better, if you could call right from the store, so the store reps can't lie to you.

This phone went on sale for $392 after educational discount on Samsung.com several months ago. The in-screen fingerprint reader isn't the fastest, but it's reliable enough. The biggest downside is the haptic motor (perhaps also a problem on the new Pixels) is so weak that you'll probably miss the vibrating notifications.

What is the "Switch to Metro and get one line of unlimited for $25/month—plus a free SIM card." part about?

The offer appears to be a separate one or can you do this with a $25/mo plan too?

Does anyone know if they will accept a mint mobile number for the promo? Asking cause Mint is a T-Mobile mvno.
I spent about a half in the Metro store. They ran our phone # in the system and saw that it was a T-mobile mvno and would not allow it. It actually was a Sprint mvno. So neither would quality. They showed us the computer screen where it was "denied". They said we could still get a free phone, but we'd have to do the $60 a month plan. We left and went to boost across the street. Also, he did mention that the $25 a month at Metro is for 24 months.

So a $100 phone that will end up costing you more than the full retail price ($499) if you need to unlock, and you do...
6 months of service is like 360 + taxes and fees?
It's a good thing there are a lot of these used and unlocked.

Can we trade old flip phones? I have a couple of old ones in a drawer.
I was at a corporate store today, and I was told that the phone for the trade-in needed to be worth at least $10 in their system. I checked Samsung S4 and iPhone 5, and neither of them qualified.

Crazy. My S3 should be worth $10! It still turns on and charges fine. No scratches or obvious damage.

Nope. The A52 %G has super amoled screen vs standard IPS screen on N10 and A52 with 120 Hz vs 90 Hz on N10. Slightly larger battery on the A52 at 4,500 vs 4,300 mAh. Front camers on A52 is 32GB vs 16GB on Nord 10 and the big one is the A52 has water proof/resistant IP67 rating vs none on the OnePlus N10
