Didn't really think of it that way but yeah. Gouging. I'm starting think jusy get the 5600 and 3060 ti. Its for my son and worlds better than what he has.

I'm curious how many of you are rethinking this given the Lenovo 5i desktop I7 11700 / rtx 3070 that dropped today. I bought the Omen 30L 5600x / rtx 3080 yesterday. The Omen 30L's case is such hot garbage I was considering putting it into a new case. The Lenovo 5i deal provides 32gb of ram and a 1gb SSD; avoiding the inconvenience and cost of upgrading the 30L is tempting.

I'm assuming that a match w/all these keywords means it would work out:
* 2x16GB
* DDR4 3200
* Desktop model

[UPDATE: actually I think I'll stick w/more well-known brand like gskill, and now I realize I probably want to take RGB into consideration too]

I see only option with RTX 3070, where did you find offer with 3080?

Totally anecdotal and not advice but I purchased the 25l 3070 deal in may and after 2 months waiting I asked to cancel and before the request was fulfilled It shipped out 2 days later. The eta was pushed 3-4 times until that point. May want to chat with support to see what's going on.

For those planning on removing the GPU and trying to sell the desktop on eBay make sure you search completed listings for "omen 30l no gpu" on Ebay. For my 5600x / 8gb ram / 256gb SSD unit it appears I could expect $500-600 for the open box desktop without the GPU, less eBay fees. Theres a bunch of these on eBay already, and I expect even more will be posted in the next month. It takes a special kind of buyer to buy an open box Omen 30L with no GPU.

I ordered the Omen yesterday, but the heat problems have me worried after doing some research. I thought about getting the Lenovo, but when I went to my HP order/account, it says you only get 1 hour to cancel your order then nothing can be done until it ships (which is like...3 weeks from now), which is ridiculous. I looked online to see if anyone had any luck canceling, but I didn't find much info. I'd probably get the Lenovo if I could, but I'm sure HP would try and charge me the 15% restocking fee which would eat up any savings.

I submitted a request to cancel my Omen 30L order through their website. No way they can charge a restocking fee under this circumstance and I'll happily dispute with my credit card if they try.

Did you do an email or chat? I'm on hold with chat at the moment. I agree though..there's no way the factory has started building this when they say it won't ship for until 12/15, and won't arrive until 12/20. I feel like I have a dispute because they originally said it would arrive by 12/15, but then moved it out 5 days (even though that's not the reason I'm canceling).

No way they can bind you after they changed the delivery date. Don't take no for an answer and escalate. If that doesn't work take it up directly with your credit card company.
