As others have said - BIG SHIPPING WARNING! I ordered this exact system (5600X w/ 3080 via the .edu deal - see past threads) on Oct 20th and the scheduled delivery was originally Nov 15th (almost 1 month out) and it has been delayed TWICE now and just yesterday they moved it to Dec 15th! So the delay is pretty insane, 60 days from order date and still no clue if it will *actually ship* at that new date. Pretty infuriating. I am sure at this point they are just taking orders without actually having the components in-stock.

HP support has ZERO info on if it will actually ship, they do not know anything more than your order status page. At this point just bummed HP is so inept.

What is the RGB version part number? (although Im not sure what the issue with Ryzen Master is)

Try contacting the shipping service. When I did, they said they did not know where my item was and had to look for it. When they found it, they shipped it.

I bought an HP Omen 30L during last year's black friday deal. They just recently released a bios update a few weeks ago that allows you to go into bios and enable XMP settings without any issue. I have HyperX 3200 ram (not HP branded) and it works flawlessly.

I was previously using Intel Extreme to overclock (had no issues with that either).

This is Ryzen system not intel won't work same way. it comes with Ryzen Master program which lets you tweak about everything including memory.

Would I be able to add this 8gb RAM? Adding HP's RAM seems way too overpriced

EDIT: So when I pick the configuration with only 8 GB RAM, I lose the ability to use any coupon code. But when I try 16 GB config, I can use my EDU code, which ends up making the total cheaper than if I buy RAM separate (assuming an 8 GB stick is $40).

$1390 + $40 8 gb RAM = $1430
vs
$1340 for 16 gb build with EDU code

The base pricing on the HP Pavilions has increased $50. Frontpage listing is updated and added a few updated configurations to the original post as well.

The 5600g/3060 configuration only went up by $9 because it originally required adding SSD upgrade to make it over $1k to use the 10% code so I changed that back to 256gb to list the new cheapest configuration.

Honestly no idea on what ram is compatible or if you'd have to use their software to properly unlock even if you add in an exact stick. No experience with that. Best bet might be to get the system first then look at the model number sticker to match exactly including timings. If you're using Holiday10, I think it might require a higher price to activate, but Winter10 should work on either configuration, and stack with EDU according to others experience. I don't have an EDU to test.

I've noticed the EPP discount on Pavilions is now more than it was before the base price increase. It still doesn't stack, so the higher priced configurations wouldn't be affected. But now using EPP without code is a better discount on the cheapest 2 options. The cheapest one is actually $4 less than it was with the code at lower base price. I made an edit in the original post to reflect that option.

Are you sure that wasn't viewing while logged into an EDU? Account discounts reflect in base without having to add to cart. Either way, if it did I missed it, but they're up $50 from original posting now, with the two lowest options being cheaper with EPP and no code.

Anyone interested in the 5700g/3060 Pavilion configuration should check out this deal. It's only $10 more with winter10 for same cpu/gpu and 16gb ram, 512 ssd and 1tb hdd.
