How did it stop working? Did it stop turning on? From what I've seen on the reddit forums, everyone says that the G15 construction is superior to other budget gaming laptops. Considering this has a 3050TI, it's hard to find another gaming laptop that can compete.

My guess is most likely not, based on this link [pcgamesn.com]. It didn't state which i7 it used, so it's possible it was testing on a lower generation cpu, but it might be possible to get 120fps on the low-medium settings with DLSS

One is a laptop and one is a desktop. Not really apples-to-apples. Given the laptop and desktop monitor are similar, the desktop would most likely win for gaming.

Yes, obviously, but not quite that simple. Six core CPU on laptop vs quad core CPU on desktop, the laptop is more expensive and wondering how much more performance the desktop has, in detail. Thanks.

1660 Super Desktop is much better than 3050Ti, and no need to mention 6g vs 4g VRAM. Also although you have 6-core CPU on laptop, the cooling constraint would keep its performance limited after you start playing for 30 minutes or so. Desktop have no such problem. In a word, if you only play game at home and you don't move, desktop definitely.

The number of cores matters less for gaming. The desktop cpu has a lower clock speed though, but the gpu will probably matter more for more graphically intense games, especially with the 6GBs. You may be able to also overclock the desktop cpu more to beat the i5.
