I have subscriptions to the Post, the Wall Street Journal, and the New York Times and I think the reporting by all three are excellent and some of the best in the country. I don't read their opinion pages. I encourage you to give their reporting a read, and perhaps you'll find something interesting. It's best to learn more about the facts, then form your own opinions rather than regurgitating someone else's opinions.
And by the way, this is the best deal I've seen for an annual subscription to a major newspaper. Definitely worth it to see if you find the reporting interesting.

I NEVER read the Washington Post Opinion pieces, but their Fact-based journalism is still top-notch IMO.
I'm really glad they make the distinction and am happy to provide at least a little support to one of the few remaining institutions that at least attempt to make a distinction between fact-based reporting and opinion pieces.

If I cancel now (which if I try, it offers me $9.99 per year starting 04/22) will I get $10 back, then I can sign up for $9.99 and threaten to cancel again and get 2nd year for $9.99?

Scroll down and click on Cancel my subscription bottom left kind of all by itself and lonely looking
Choose Promotion ended as the reason for cancellation
You'll get the option to change your renewal rate to the $9.99 and keep your subscription active. Do that.
Or, fight with WaPo to try to get some $ back from your current subscription rate if that's what suits you. I chose not to. Extending for another year at $10 is good enough for me.
If you want to avoid bias as much as possible, then avoid all pieces which are clearly labeled as "opinion", which reputable news sites do specifically label.
I ultimately decided to cancel and resubscribe under a new email and using the new promo, because 2 yrs/$20 is always better than 1 yr/$10
