A couple of advantages:

1. Upgradeable RAM
2. Full Dell thunderbolt functionality.

I've learned in 2021 that no laptop/notebook is good enough here on SD and I will be stuck with my 10 year old 8/640GB Dell that's bogged down into oblivion.

The Inspiron deal for $699 today is better right? Everything else like access to 10% coupon and amex offer being equal.

This same laptop is available for $250 less with an i3-1125G4 and half the storage (https://deals.dell.com/en-us/productdetail/bieh). It's an Inspiron but everything is identical except that the Vostro has an Ethernet port and has regular USB-C supporting Power Delivery and display, instead of Thunderbolt. I have that model and think it's a much better buy than this. That 1125G4 has the same 4 cores / 8 threads as this i7. It's technically a lower-power processor, but given the thermal limitations you'll see very little real-world difference in performance. The graphics on the i3 is weaker (same architecture but half the number of execution units) but this won't matter except for gaming.

(There are those who claim that the Vostro is better-built, but look at the service manual on dell.com and you'll see the two use literally the same parts. The Inspiron 5410 is very well-built, with aluminum lid and keyboard deck. It's an amazing laptop for the price.)

It seems like it's priced appropriately.
Windows 10 pro vs home
i7 vs i3 and thunderbolt 4 is only included on the i7
Double the drive capacity
Ethernet jack
Slightly better shell
Fingerprint reader.
Prosupport vs basic hardware support.
These things may not matter as much to a home user vs a business user, hence why this is a business class machine.

On the fence, but the Vostro 7510 Deal appears to be "only" $200 more for a bigger screen (15.4), brighter (300nits), faster processor, and dedicated 3050 graphics.
Genuine question...7510 deal does not seem to getting much love in comments, but if my own preference is the bigger screen, what else should I be considering about the 5410 vs 7510 deal?

btw...I have the Amex deal (which is why I'm looking at Dell). Also, the save35 coupon says (for me anyway) that order does not qualify (so wondering if they removed it for deal).

For most of the deals, if you change anything the price increases a great deal.

Physically changing screens are usually easy enough for the future though.
sucks. i'd be willing to pay more for a better screen, but it looks like this one doesn't even offer the option.
rest of the specs are solid.

The Inspiron 5410 with i3 includes a fingerprint reader as well. I have no reason to believe the Vostro includes a better shell. I'd argue that the rest is not much for an upcharge of 55%, but to each his/her own.

I think you'll feel a real difference in responsiveness (single core). Base and max freqs are much higher on the 11390. And it can certainly hit those for a least a little while given the ST nature and Boost 3.0.

They want to compete for sales during these sales, but they don't want to destroy their sales for more "desirable" combinations that people actually need. They know bargain hunters will settle at a price.

Save35 is not working for me. Not even the 10% newsletter signup. Chatting with the agent he said that nothing can be applied for blackfriday deals. Any suggestion?

Chat agent is requesting the order number that was succesfully purchased with save35 cupon. Any good soul to help out a broke friend? 😂
