What's the difference between regular and tall? I'm 5'11" but I like the idea of a jacket covering more of my lower body to minimize wind breaking through
Talls tend to have 1-2 inches extra length in the sleeves and body. I'm a 5'11" female and I need the talls in woman's but the regular in men's. If you have issues with sleeves being too short in other long sleeve clothing then a tall would be better. Otherwise look at a different/longer jacket.

Can this be worn without that fur? I think the hood is removable too?
According to the detailed description, the faux fur can be removed (for those who feel it's too feminine). You're actually supposed to remove the fur for laundering per the instructions.

I'm looking for a good coat that will hold up against cold weather of Toronto. I'm moving there soon from South Texas (talk about a change). I'm okay spending half a grand to the likes of Arcteryx, Patagonia, TNF, but spending to likes of Canada Goose feels absolute bonkers to me. I understand the concept of layering, but I'm a minimalistic person, so if I can avoid (or even reduce) them, i will be more happy

Eddie Bauer has been referred to me by couple of friends. So is this something I should consider?
I live in Wisconsin and bought an Eddie Bauer Superior Down parka last winter, cannot begin to describe how warm it is. The only way I know how cold it actually is outside is due to the searing pain I feel in my legs as soon as I walk out of the office; everything from the waist up is perfectly comfortable. The water-resistance has been great when plowing the driveway at 5am while getting pelted with wet snow and, while trudging behind the snow-thrower, I often have to crack the top of the coat open in order to *let some of the heat out.*

My only gripes are that it's pretty bulky and doesn't have much ventilation. Physical activity like shoveling or even walking the dog can cause my torso become a sauna. For those windy/biting/sub-zero or wet days, it's exceptional but the bulkiness and lack of venting got me to buy the less-bulky, lighter-duty Rainfoil Insulated Parka last week. It hasn't arrived yet but I'm very excited to get my hands on it as temperatures in Milwaukee are still above 30 on a regular basis and the Superior Down parka is just too much.

Also, for all of the manly men on here, the fur lining on the hood is used to keep blowing snow from reaching your face.

If that is the CirrusLite, it's on back order.
Not cool. When I ordered it said it would ship by the 19th. Now the product page says will ship by 1/07. Thanks for the heads up.

I have had mine for about a year now and big fan. Only need T shirt under it above 25 degrees and a sweater does the job to zero. I would avoid getting the hood wet, but I dont think you can beat this jacket at this price point

I too recommend an EB Superior Down Parka for the coldest days. I wear mine in Minnesota when it's below 0F, but I find it too warm for above 0 temps, unless it's really windy or you're sitting outside for long periods, like watching a football game or something.

I'm trying to understand what you mean by feminine. Do you mean that the fuzzy part of the hood looks like a collar when the hood isn't up?
He means he has issues and should be in therapy, not on the internet.

Are these ideal for cold weather or would the Cirrus coats suffice (less than half the price of this)

Yes ideally try it on with a long sleeve base layer shirt, and a fleece jacket or pullover on. When that's on it should not feel tight but not too loose. You still want enough space to put a another mid to lightweight layer on under that jacket. The key is layering. The fur around the hood is actually a great feature. You'd never realize it until you have a Canadian wind blowing in your face. I lived in Ottawa for years I started out with a thick parka, eventually I just settled on layers that included a nice down puffer jacket and a ski shell.

For Toronto, I would be more inclined to go with the superior down parka. it's better for wind.

serious question. how does this compare to canada goose?
I have a similar style/length CG with hood and fur and don't find it to be all that warm. quite disappointed since it was $1k and I was expecting a lot more warmth.
