Just got an email from Microsoft inviting me to buy the XBox X available in limited quantities on Microsoft Online Store.

You have to bundle a game and a controller and it all came out to $720.
I was able to buy one for the delivery date of 12/22

I asked the store customer service, they were not aware this was going to happen let alone what the quantities are or will be. He said his understanding was that they may be releasing more as they become available.

one possible other way to get them is to make a small purchase from the microsoft store (online or in person) and make sure to give them your email and opt-in to recieve promotions. I was never an XBox.com member and still received the email from Microsoft Store.

MS is now out of stock now anyways... time to start looking for other sources. HTH

Edited to add: This MS invite program was the easiest way of obtaining a Series X that I have experienced. I hate the whole bundle concept but at least it's not the BS paid "membership only" sales that some other retailers are pulling. I hope MS will get more inventory and do this sale the same way for those that missed out. In any case, the Series X and/or the PS5 have not been all that difficult to obtain over the past few months for those folks that committed a little time to finding them. I have no doubt that things will become very tight the next few weeks with Xmas approaching so, those that haven't found one yet for retail price may have a hard time getting it under the tree.

Beware, I got this email and bought as a gift for someone, nothing said that the game would be redeemed instantly to my account. I assumed I'd get a download code but now I have a game I'm not even interested in on my account.

Trying to get any kind of support on the order has been impossible.

Although I'm willing to bet they'll arrive before that date, I wouldn't hold my breath on before Christmas however. I have the same estimate.
