The thermometer is important if you want the food to come out right, with much added convenience of not having to constantly keep an eye on your cook and open oven all the time killing the oven temp.
Kohls has the newer model of this (for an extra $100), but it, also, is the version that is not equiped with a thermometer (or I'd tell people to get that). I believe there is a newer version that has a thermometer, but it's not avail at Costco, or Kohls, and probably costs about $200 more.
The older (last gen) model got good reviews, so there's no reason to fix what is not broken.
The Costco Deal with the thermometer is the winning move.
Just know I highly recommend getting the thermometer version. WIll change you 'your life' if you read up on it.

There was a version of the old one (grill version i think), that was wider, and resembled the new one in shape. That one didn't get as good reviews as the more cubic shaped one (the one at costco). The browning was lighter, and the air didn't circulate as well. Another reason the costco one is probaby better. The knew one probably has the same circulation issue of the older 'grill' version. The grill version probably sells well because it fits a slab of ribs better, and can do more hamburger patties at once.
I still recommend the Costco one. I've said all I know. It's not for me to decide. For more info look at youtube reviews. Many rave over the older one with the thermometer (one at costco).
I think they have the same older thermometer version at kohls, but it's $200. Might be good after discounts if you like getting $45 in kohls cash.
$299
- $10 HOME coupon
- 40% Mystery Coupon
= $174 + $30 in Kohls Cash
This one would've been $96 + $10 in Kohl's cash with that same coupon.

I love it. But we only use for me and gf so upgrading to new model to lose more counter space looks harder to keep clean from splatters in the roof area.
I love my Costco model, bought 3-4 of them for 140 each. Gave to grandma. Mom, etc they all use them everyday
I smoke ribs or toss in my mini oven. 4 hours to cook fall off bone ribs or also prsssure cooker
Can't say I'd want to use the ninja foodi for ribs

But damn delicious. I smoke them now. But if I had to cook inside, I'd do this.

You're grandma isn't going to use it <G> I've done same thing so many times in past. Buy multiple gems for the people I love and they no clue or interest in using it. Was hard enough selling the idea of a ReplayTV to my girlfriend in 2002, especially since I don't personally watch tv.
I overshared oh well

In my kitchen we have a breville smart oven air, ninja foodi grille, and main oven and stove. We never use the real oven unless, Turkey etc.
All summer though we smoke and grille outside in our propane grille and propane smoker. Got 3 40lb tanks I refill as needed.
Almost piped natural gas but my 3k qoute before COVID became 7k after COVID. Ef that. I was gonna convert Weber grille and smoker into natural gas for convenience.
I have never sous vided. I need to look into it.
I also want a gas stove but I have electric, they want 5 to pipe into attic and drop down to kitchen. Zzz rip off man.
