Is this deal better than the Kindle kids deal with cover + 2yr warranty + no ads for $114?
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08WQ9DW84/

Don't have kids, just for my use.

If you plan on putting a cover on it, then the Kids version is a better deal.

I did that too, but it still says I wont get anything until they receive it and inspect it. Makes this whole thing kind of useless because it wont be on sale by that time
That's definitely not what happened to me. Maybe it's a glitch due to all the traffic I'm sure the page is getting? Did you trade in the same device as me? That may also be the issue.

I have seen this discussed many times on other threads and it seems random. Some have said they get the instant coupon on their first Amazon trade in. Others swear it's their first time… who knows. I am not getting offered the instant coupon either - only after appraisal.

The kid deal covers with a cover and no ad on screen. Both have the 4 months unlimited offer

I know nothing about Kindles but was considering the kids version as gifts for three five year olds. Will parents be able to add apps to the kids version? There are some great learning apps so that seems important. Any advice is appreciated.

Sweet deal and have been hoping for it! I was able to snag one for $53.99 BEFORE taxes!!

Traded in my old 2018 Ad-supported Kindle Paperwhite. Amazon gave me $30 trade-in credit for it. Plus 20 percent off this current sale price (making it $83.99). Subtract $30 gift card as well, $53.99!

Fantastic deal for those trading in!
Same, came out to be 58.xx for me after tax. Waited for the type c charging Paperwhite forever, so that along worths the upgrade

Stoked you got it too! Seems like some people are not being offered the immediate trade in value! Weird.

This is a book reader. You can not install apps on it. You need to buy a regular fire tablet for that.

I've done the Amazon trade in before, and I had a ubreakifix nearby me. So I went to drop off the trade in and got the credit and take in coupon the moment I left the store.

I think the kid version is a better deal for three reasons: no ads, two years warranty and a cover. Since it is just ten dollars more, I bought the kid version.

I bought the base Kindle a few weeks ago for $50
It's my first Kindle so I can't really compare it to others.
For those of you familiar with both, is the paper white worth the extra $55?
If it's your first Kindle, enjoy it until you are ready for an upgrade (3-10 years from now?). I got my first basic Kindle in 2013 and I used it for 8 years and I loved every book I read on it. It didn't have backlight, it was slow to turn pages, no touch screen so searching for things takes ages etc, but I didn't really see them as limitations, because like you I didn't have anything to compare it to. I only had physical books to compare it to and it was light-years better than physical books. I enjoyed every moment of using it.

You will notice limitations only when you get a more expensive device and get used to the features and try to go back to the basic versions.
