Don't expect magic, just better than most of these types of heaters. What these are good at are:
- Most of the models run quietly, so if you want something for a bedroom etc.
- The fan design does a good job of circulating the heat around a room (up to about 12 x 12 or maybe a little bigger), though probably not as good as the noisy ones that spin back and forth.
- Some models have more than one heat output level, which can be useful.
- 5 year warranty. Their warranty service is good. I had one where the thermostat wasn't working properly, they sent a replacement.
Also, if you like the idea of having a remote, that seems rare at this price point.
Amazon reviews for similar/same? heater. I never noticed much smell on the 3-4 I've owned. But for that, and the failures, for sure plan on running it a few hours out of the box to make sure it's working as intended.

I am using it in a 14 x 14 foot room with attached bathroom and walk-in closet and it really circulates the air to heat the entire room, and not just a small space, and does so quietly. The house can be 67 degrees and this room is 80 degrees and that's not even with the thermostat set to maximum.
It has great safety features like cool to the touch which is great if you have pets, will shut off if tipped over, and detects if it overheats, for example if something were to block the front it will shut off.
Mine came with a 5 year warranty which covers shipping BOTH ways if you need warranty service . Who does that anymore?
One tip, some people say it works one or two seasons and then not the next. This year when I turned it on the red LED came on but there was no heat and the fan wasn't spinning. It was simply the thermostat setting, which will automatically turn the heater on and off to maintain set temperature, was turned too low. Once I rotated that it turned on and worked normally.
I don't have Costco membership because there are none close to where I live but if I did I would seriously consider picking this up to have if my VH200 eventually dies.
Amazon has the Vornado TAVH10 which appears to be the same as this for $127.78 and one with a digital read out but no remote for $100 so this is a great deal. Note, some reviewers complain about the LCD display casting a bright blue light that lights up the room so consider that if that would bother you when sleeping.
You can purchase without membership for $59.50
However, I could use the timer feature as I would have it run for 1-2 hours and stop. The heater isn't something I want to be running and forget about. Also the wattage of heat for this Vornado with the fan is better than the normal heater brand. The remote is really unnecessary for me but it's a nice touch for those in bed that do not want to get up.
Other heaters I had required you to sit in front of them to get warm, and then that was only the part of you facing the heater. These will heat an entire room and do it quietly. Plus the safety features this has is great.
The one I have now doesn't have the remote control but there were times I was in bed and I wished I had a remote control as it was either too warm or cold for me. Sometimes I feel hot at 73 degrees and other times I feel cold at 78 degrees.
Also, unless it changed these have a 5 year warranty and the company pays shipping BOTH ways if you have to send it back for warranty service. One person said the company just needed to see a picture of the power cord cut off and they sent them a replacement.

That's a lot of work for $5
