I would bet money that these are not impact bits like is shown in the pictures. They are labeled as "tough grip" which is the same as the 110 piece set they sell and on that page dewalt directly says that they are NOT impact ready. They use pictures that don't look anything like the bits you get. I bought the 110 piece set (Model #DWA110SETCCLW), they have pictures of impact bits and what you get (and the model number on the package I got matches the one on the page I bought it from) are straight steel shanks. And like I said, if you read the Q&A section carefully you'll see that DeWalt themselves say they are not impact bits. Between them not being able to properly list the items they're selling and issues I had with them returning a tool that was delivered damaged, my opinion of Lowe's is going down hill fast (used to be my favorite).

I don't think anyone thought they were impact bits. This set of bits is for a power screw driver.

You mean like the guy above me that asked if they would work for the drill/impact driver set that he linked and you replied to him that it shouldn't be a problem?.... The point is, Lowe's product pages for these bit sets are trash. They show DeWalt impact bits in all the pictures and what you get will not look anything like the pictures they show on the product pages.

Never said it would not be a problem. Understand 18 volt drills and impact drivers have the power to destroy any bit you use, does not matter if it is impact rated or not. Impact rated should be tougher, but they are all throw away bits. Years ago I worked on an assembly line where we used air impact guns to tighten over 3,000 hex screws a day. The best bits we had back then were Apex. One of those would last up to 2 weeks. A Snap-on bit could last up to 3 days. Any other brand lasted about a day. So back to the bit listed here, it is for a power screwdriver and will last many years for the average home owner. If you choose to use a more powerful tool, go easy on it. Go slow, and let off the trigger before the screw bottoms out.

I just went back to the Lowes web listing for this, no where does it imply these are industrial rated bits. It really said "general DIY purposes"

Again, the point is... Lowe's are showing pictures of a different class of bit than they are actually selling. Anyone buying this set will not get what they think they are ordering.

The price is only $8, and it works great for DIY power screw drivers. If you you find a better deal, then post it in your own thread and see if you get any thumbs up.

Silly me for thinking people might want to get a product that matches what is pictured when they order something...

I own it, and it looks exactly like the picture. You must have bought the wrong one. They make like 50 different boxed bit sets. You need to read the description carefully. Sounds like you wanted impact bits and you bought this instead. In the Dewalt line, silver bits are not impact rated. Look for dark gray or black bits if you want impact rated.
