Dang I thought this was just something that happened to us. Switched to Gain like a decade ago after all kinds of "bio-mat" buildup. The service guy told us to switch.

Sorry. We have a newfangled EPA-pleasing septic system (a mini waste plant in your yard, really) and it's got a stage where it dumps the still "rich" water onto a gravel pit. The gravel pit got clogged with a "biomat" of growing lifeforms and the septic service guy asked if we used Tide, and said to switch to anything else. We did, and the problem subsided. That's all the info I have.
