So I need to buy separate app for my phone and iPad? Why!?
EDIT: I don't know why OP called this a calendar. It's not. I personally use it as a Calendar but it really doesn't look like a calendar in the traditional sense

This is HANDS DOWN the best task manager in existence. Worth every penny for not having to pay a subscription and own the software.

Wish they would stop calling it "All New" since it's been out for years. Can't wait for Things 4!
I have Things for all my iOS devices. Recently switched to Todoist because of their boards feature and cross-platform use. Much happier right now. Things is just very slow to innovate. Buying software for each iOS platform is expensive. It also feels like a product that will go subscription, and I can't justify that for the lack of cross-platform functionalities.

With Todoist Free, I could replicate my Things setup, use Boards, and connect it to other amazing tools like Obsidian.

It's definitely a great app. I use it on my iMac, iPad, iPhone and Apple Watch. It is absolutely insane you have to purchase it separately across all platforms, especially because I'm sure it'll be going subscription at some point if/when Things 4 comes out. If you want an alternative (subscription) then Tick Tick is the next best I've used.

I'm a heavy TickTick user, but always willing to switch. You think Things is better functionally, or is the appeal mainly aesthetic?

I don't have a real strong preference between the two to be honest. My favorite productivity (planner and ToDo) app right now is Structured. Highly recommended except it's iPhone only right now.

Reminders has come a long way of late. That is what I use. It's not quite as intuitive and you could argue it doesn't look as good, but for most people most of the time, I think it is fine. I have a GTD setup with Reminders and it works well for me. If you need power-user features, look at Todoist. It works on all platforms, including the web (Things has no web interface) and a one year subscription is pretty affordable.

I have used TickTick and Todoist for a few months before switching to Things. It has been a year and I never look back. End of the day it is not about the tool. It is how you manage your day and priorities. Things have been helping me not to miss important tasks. Also, it allow me to organize my long term and short term goals.
