I have a Rift S and I just pulled the trigger and ordered the HP Reverb G2. The price is awesome for what you get. It has all the Valve Tech perks for comfort with the strap and over the ear audio. You get real IPD adjustment. Awesome display with no screen door effect. Better FOV than oculus and the faceplate is removable with an optional gasket for wearing glasses. The headset flips up too. This is the 2.1 version which they updated with better vertical camera tracking, cabling and removable faceplate gasket for better FOV if you don't wear glasses. Leave it in there by default otherwise.

As for the Quest 2 the G2 is even more comfortable unless you invest in the upgraded head strap but it lacks the same quality. The Quest is good but the screen is lower resolution than the G2. You can get a decent picture with wireless streaming but a direct wired connection is best for lower latency. You have to buy a long USB-C cable for the Quest 2 link to Pc and it must be of a good quality or it won't work. The Quest 2 has its own App Store requiring a Facebook account to use as a standalone headset or even to activate it for SteamVR use.

I'd stick with HP so you're guaranteed to get the updated version of the G2 which comes with a higher compatibility cable, a two piece face pad so you can adjust eye to lens distance, & improved tracking.

Did anyone get passed the Status: "Processing" step on their G2 order? The last time this got stuck for me is when I tried buying a gaming Pc and eventually hp auto canceled my order the next day without any explanation.

Anyone have a screen shot of this at $399? I just bought couple of weeks ago and am trying to get HP to price match. Long shot though, since they say they do not price match to Black Friday sale.

Edit:
At least chat gave me $90 back in points to use for future purchase due to price reduction today.

Edit: Crap, it was only $9 back in points, lol.

Back in stock now for backorder at $399, ordering it through PerksAtWork with 15x cash back.

Problem is, I had used $200 in PerksAtWork points on the original purchase, so these will go back in my account later, after cancelling order, and therefore can't use them now.

I didn't, I have Oculus Quest 2 as well. In fact, have every Oculus HMD since CV1. Getting this for higher resolution over Quest 2 for Steam VR.

If you have a midrange to high end PC, yes. I played Alyx on Quest 2, but will revisit again on HP Reverb
