Wow, what a deal!

I've been hemming and hawing whether to get the Kindle Fire HD 10 Plus, the Lenovo 10e or the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite 4gb version.

The only thing that originally stopped me with the Lenovo 10e was the terribly bad speakers. But at this price point, I'll deal with it. I have plenty of other devices around the house (including other PCs, tablets, phones and bluetooth speakers) if I wish to play something at a loud volume.

Here is my brief analysis should this help anyone in the same boat.

* The Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is 8.4" and arguably is easier to handle than the 10" Fire HD 10 and Lenovo 10e. But the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite uses a crappy 1340x800 resolution with poor viewing angles. Buyer beware that the A7 Lite does have a 3GB RAM variant as well.

* Kindle Fire HD 10 Plus (the 4GB RAM variant) was really, really tempting especially considering one can use Fire Toolbox to remove the ads & bloatware, sideload Google Play Store, and sideload a custom launcher.

* BUT Kindle Fire HD 10 Plus uses Android 9 as the underlying OS (already out of date considering Android 12 just came out). Not to mention Amazon is releasing a new (currently optional) OS update to version 7.3.3.2 that prevents Fire Toolbox from being able to do its thing. Not sure how I feel about being forever stuck on a previous version of an already outdated OS.

* I've read that the Lenovo 10e's ChromeOS is a bit hit-or-miss compared to Android (especially with app compatibility) but we shall see. I don't really do much on my current tablets besides catching up on news, perusing Reddit & Slickdeals and occasionally watching a show or TV on it.

As much as a good deal it is, id rather go with the Amazon Fire HD Plus, just based on the added storage option, especially with the firebox tool to 'unlock' it.

just yesterday pricematched lenovo to $99.99 (it was $119.99) and now another $20 drop. wonder if we should just return the lenovo and buy from ebay instead
I am contemplating the same exact thing. I bought 2 so $40 ($20 savings on each) makes a difference. Wondering if I'd get anywhere with Lenovo on price matching again or just buy 2 more and return the originals.

These were almost certainly built for a large education order that fell through. I ordered one weeks ago and it is superior to the Fire (I have a Fire 10+). They work great as a tablet, I have yet to run into an issue with an Android app. I am going to return the one I got for $120 and ordered two of the $80 ones. Have yet to drop it, but it is designed for a school. On a side note, HBO max and Amazon Prime will play 1080 and let you download. Netflix, Hulu and Disney are available for download. Netflix will play 1080 n the browser (unlike a desktop computer) You can plug in most any Chromebook Compatible USC-C device, including FIT Flash Drives and Docs. Bluetooth and Wired (via doc) Keyboard and mice work fine. Video out is natively supported (with most USB-C dongles). Battery life is for DAYs (or about 12-15 hours screen time) They actually get faster after updating.
I have been there and done that with the Fire hacks and it's nice not having to deal with it any more. I like this tablet and have been using various mobile OS tablets for work and play from the iPad 1. It's NOT what I would spend 300 on (and at that price, I bet the school district went with iPads for primary and traditional Chromebooks for middle and high school), but for 80 its awesome. Keep in mind that this thing has soft speakers, but it also has a headphone jack and Bluetooth.

I just got the keyboard case in the mail. At first I thought it was junk and then I plugged it in and wow. The spacing is FULL SIZED for the letters. I'm using it with a nice Bluetooth mouse and the experience is better than an iPad. It is a Lenovo keyboard. Can be used on lap. No touchpad, but I HATE touchpads.

It is awesome for being $80. Just ordered it at 80 and initiated a request for return for the $120 I bought last week

If using this tablet with a keyboard is important, then consider the Asus 11.6" Chromebook for $99 at Best Buy. The keyboard will be noticably larger and more comfortable to type on.

Thanks OP. Bought this and cancelled the Lenovo order from yesterday.
Pretty stupid of lenovo to sell these cheaper on ebay rather than on their site.

No luck. They will only price match off their site directly. Since ebay is not their site (even though the seller is Lenovo) the price match would get rejected. Therefore, I am going to repurchase off ebay and then return the ones bought from the Lenovo site. Bummer.

Was seriously considering at 100. Now 80$? That 32gb is the only thing stopping me. How much space does the os take up?

You can use external storage if you're ok with an otg cable hanging off.

Does this have the same dimension as the Fire 10+ ? I was wondering if the Fire10 Fintio keyboard case will work with this.

Not really useful for moving apps to SD like Android. As of yet, ChromeOS does not allow apps to SD card. Then you might as well get a 64GB Fire Tablet. It doesn't take many apps to fill up your storage. These are content consumption devices that need access to content offline.
