Great deal tbh, probably the best deal with a 5500U, compared to the other i3/i5 and even i7 deals, 5500U almost always comes out on top.
2 RAM slots, replaceable NVME and WiFi card, FHD IPS screen
only downside is the not so great battery size and probably not so great build quality.

but for sub-400, this is a no-brainer and can handle pretty much anything you can throw at it, especially if you take the 2x8GB 3200 RAM upgrade.

just wish other retails can price match on specific builds.

Ryzen 7 5700U is an option for an additional $90, didn't check the benchmarks to compare, but the Ryzen 5 5500U is probably fine for most people...

That's the name of the integrated graphics chip on this APU, It's not trying to mislead anyone.

worst thing about hp.com as you cannot cancel anything. After Hitting the purchase button there's no going back, you have to return it may be subject to a restocking fee.

As for the $20 coupon code for signing up with HP news;letter, you will receive an email within 24-48 business hours after you placed your first order.

What I suggest is to wait for the email with the coupon code for $20 instead that you can use for your future purchases.

The coupon codes should be applied during checkout.

I already check with our support and we can no longer honor the $25 on this order.

The option we have now is to wait for the coupon code for $20 for signing up with HP newsletter.

"

So they're making me wait to place a second order to get the coupon code. No way. I am not in need of 2 laptop orders. Just one.

Well, although I couldn't get the credit, it's still a good deal and glad some others got it.

I ordered one, used an Amex Card that has no issues
Got emails from Amex my card was approved (I signed up for these)

Got an email from HP my card was declined.

Called Amex, they said we see the charge it was not declined and nothing is wrong with your account. They suggest the email was an error or HP is having some problem and I should contact HP

I can't get a human on the phone, every time I hit 3 to get a human it hangs up
no one answering live chat in 30 mins now

HP appears to suck for customer service

So actually ended up cancelling and reordering with smaller SSD ($385 total), given if I am going to open the computer once for ram might as well stick a bigger SSD inside and this is more cost effective vs ordering via hp. Also used costco card for warranty.

Trying to decide between the Samsung, WD, and SK Hynix SSDs… apparently SK Hynix runs coolest.
Hynix are the best laptop SSD.

Stick with the 5500U. 6 cores, 12 threads, and 8mb L3 cache. 99.9% of people using it will never be able to tell the difference, for what this sort of a laptop will be used for. I can think of no really good reason to upgrade a $370 laptop like this with these specs and no discrete graphics card to an 8/16 core processor from a 6/12 core processor for another $90.
