I've never seen an APC on slickdeals that didn't have several pages of people saying it will fry your electronics and shoot your grandma. This seems like a good deal to me with just a basic home office setup, but I look forward to finding out why I was an idiot to buy it.

I got this same deal from Tiger for $99 back in July. Though it took them a month to get it to me. I've been using it since August with no issues or noticable noise.

Damn thing is heavy AF. It's got one hefty battery in it. Amazing they can do free shipping and still profit.

Don't plug laser printers into UPSes.
This will work for the rest of your setup.

Question - i'm looking for something to put in front of my gaming PC (w/800PSU) and 32" pro art monitor, plus a switch, speakers etc. From a smart power plug, it looks like during a gaming session i'm drawing about 400-500w. Is this going to be enough with plenty of room to upgrade to a rtx3080 (in 2025 lol)?
You're doing it right as far as checking your peak draw instead of looking at the labels on devices and adding them up (and then overbuying UPS capacity). Consider doing a similar run while doing some benchmarking (Prime95 to task the CPU, for the GPU even some of your games might have a benchmarking tool). This will potentially give you more insight into the potential peak draw.

If you're shopping for just basic coverage during brief outages, connecting a 500W load to a 600W UPS is just fine. Just make sure you really have that headroom otherwise you could actually cause the system to disconnect when your PC tries to draw more power than the UPS is rated to supply.

Good luck!

There are a bunch of deals for smaller capacity units in the $30-$40 range. All are modified sine wave.
Ex: https://slickdeals.net/f/15436981-apc-back-ups-450-standby-ups-29-99
https://slickdeals.net/f/15440890-apc-650va-7-outlet-back-ups-battery-backup-35-free-store-pickup-sd-cashback-office-depot

The description of this one at Office Depot is lacking details on the capacity. I'm guessing it's a 850VA 500 W model based on the regular price and the fact the other capacity levels in the PST5 line have other listings at Office Depot. If so, $40 for 500W is a pretty good deal.
Edit: It's confirmed in this post. Also at Amazon for $40.
Thanks. Lot of comments about that model not lasting. I have a Cyberpower on my desktop and I've had it for about 5 years now. Surprisingly it still works great in the outages I've had. I think I might be partial to Cyberpower especially after reading the bad reviews on APC.

Was this the best pure sine wave deal for BF and cyber week? I didn't see anything else really. Was looking for 900W.

Took a little less than two weeks for me to receive both items in separate shipments, The surge protector is pretty basic. It does not even have spaced out outlets for power bricks.

Good luck.

I received a defective device. Screen won't turn on and USB port is all bent up. I'm assuming a drunk tester or something.

Customer service (option 2) just hangs up on you.

Other options say they are too busy and hangs up on you.

Chat service does not work.

WTF am I supposed to do?
