And then another $100 for 1TB SSD, twice the size. If you go by that logic rather than what you actually need, there is no end to that.

I'm sure there has to be a coupon out there that will work with this too?

Also I think the display upgrade for the extra 30 is worth it...

That's not what I was implying. This is a good laptop for the price and everyone knows that people always want the most for the least.

I was just pointing out that there's a higher chip option available at a relatively low price.

You can't upgrade the processor later to get more performance, but someone can upgrade the ssd later for more size and/or speed.

You can easily upgrade SSD afterwards yourself. CPU is fixed....

You did not get my point. And you may think most people open their laptops to upgrade components, the real thing is that is basically less than 10% people.

Anyway, my point was that you can spend some more and can get some extra features but first think if you really need those in the first place. If you are buying this for normal day-to-day tasks which most people will do with these kind of laptops, 5600U is actually overpowered for that and can handle those for years to come. Now, you may get the 5800U upgrade by paying $100 extra but the question is are you going to do anything which need that much processing power? If not, then you'll be ending up simply wasting that $100.

You'd think so but I bought another HP latptop and the bios has bitlocker encryption, even after disabling that the bios wont acknowledge new nvme.

To install a windows I used hirens boot cd and managed to install windows onto new nvme and confirm its accessible and usable. But booting or accessing the new drive was completely blocked, just sayin I thought it was easy also but decided f it....
