Random Orbit unless you plan to burn your paint. There is one by Porter Cable & Dewalt.
I have the Dewalt cordless one and it is good.

I've had my eye on this for a while. But I don't use this professionally, just around the house. In considering buying this now, but read where you can use an orbital sander or orbital multi-tool as a replacement for an orbital polisher such as this one.

Can anybody comment on household need for this polisher to serve beyond what either an orbital multi-tool or orbital sander can meet?

With proper blades & attachments - grinding concrete & making it smooth. Can also be use for polishing your Wooden Floors or maybe even your granite counter tops or even sanding your drywall. This has speed adjustments so you can do a lot with proper blades & attachments

How long was this deal active? I've been searching for a cheap BWP849X since before Thanksgiving and the lowest I've seen on Amazon the last week was $180.
