I know this was for TVs a while back but just wanted to throw this information out there for anyone concerned about security.
Just my 2 cents. Hope everyone is having awesome holidays.
Although I'll also argue that battery degradation on a phone that's been turned off for the last 2-3 years is gonna be minimal.
And if that phone was fully charged and left somewhere warm, the battery will degrade much faster than if it were only 1/3 to 1/2 charged and stored in a cool location.
Buying a used phone is always a gamble, especially with battery life.
I'd go for the new TCL.
I had to get rid of my last Samsung due to multiple issues, after giving them a second chance, so never going back to them. Loved my Note 2, but the Note 4 was problematic abs had to be replaced when the screen fell off. Went to Essential after that. When support ended, tried S20 FE, but would crash often, had screen jitters, and rebooted when I launched the camera. Thank God it was free. Traded it in on iPhone 12. It's not perfect, but doesn't crash. Want to go back to Android in a couple years.
Oh, ended up getting a cheap Red Pocket sim for the Essential phone to use a mobile hotspot and data uploader from my cars OBD2 Reader.

The reason to buy an older flagship as new is because the hardware is comparable to 2021 flagships, with a much lower pricetag. In many cases, the software CAN be updated, just not from the original vendor.
I read all the posts but didn't see anything relating to Tracfone.
Any info would be appreciated.
