Also pro tip, dont over oil your filter otherwise it will leak into your maf sensor.
I still clean my MAF once in a while as a preventative maintenance but never because it got totally gunked up from the oil.
Nowadays, just buy the OEM ones for my Jeep and Chevy and my wife's Lexus. Had a Porsche in between there…but could care lest about a little extra HP nowadays.
Without oil? That's not how the product is to be used
With the oil.. Doesn't matter. There are holes everywhere. Filter actually works better somewhat dirty. Aftermarket motor builders for off-road went to triple gauze filters or paper. (CBM, DANZIO, TURNKEY, ETC) because these suck too much silt in.(especially in forced induction motors) The testing is out there.

I'm just pointing out that light doesn't come through when it's oiled correctly.
I think they went to foam filters
I was specifically pertaining to K&N cabin air filter which are also reusable. Not sure if the cleaners are for both their engine and cabin filters.
