These the best ones on sale or wait for another deal?
Internet says 35mi range for the Costco, which is only two radios for $50, and 40mi range for these radios.
You might find comments saying they only went half a mile but if you read the manual it states that channels 8-14 typically max at 5 miles while 15-22 typically go 40 miles. The person testing was probably on channel 1, who knows what max that holds
These radios are rated on flat ground with no obstructions like hills, buildings, trees, etc. so keep that in mind. I use 2 way marine radios when boating and they work great because nothing blocks the signal on water. It's a huge ymmv since terrain plays a big part with signal strength (or no signal).

Just assume you'll get 0.5 miles for range and you won't be disappointed. That goes for ALL walkie talkies.
Thoughts on whether to hold out for a GMRS deal?
edit: it doesn't say GMRS, but with 22 channels, and saying that you can only use channels below 14 without a license, it's gotta be GMRS above 14.
In for a set.
