If the lock is exposed to rain then it keeps thinking someone is trying to unlock and it keeps saying wrong code and finishes battery in few hours.
I really wanted this to be good as I also have eufy cameras but it is not

They fixed it by adding a time-of-flight check. So the wireless challenge-response communication between the lock and the keyfob have to happen quickly enough, that based on the speed of the radio waves it knows the key is within a few feet of the car. 100 ft is way too big. (A few manufacturers tried to do it the cheap way and reduced the signal strength to reduce the range, but thieves just started using signal repeaters.)
That has me curious though. If you (and your phone) are inside the house and the door is locked, how does this know to keep the door locked when someone tries to open it from the outside?
But based on someone else's comment about rain, it sounds like they used a capacitive touchscreen. Those are extremely sensitive to water. The water will trigger the touchpad just like your finger, and if the screen is wet it may not properly register your finger touches (though Sony figured out a way to do it on their phones). They probably should've used a resistive touchscreen (less sensitive, but can be used even when underwater).
My main gripe is that if you leave the door open for 3 minutes, the deadbolt pops out so the auto-lock feature can "save battery". I have slammed my deadbolt right into the door molding multiple times because of this. There is no way to disable it other than disabling the auto-lock feature, and that is the whole reason I bought this lock. The auto-lock also only works some of the time, and seems to only like full 90 degree door openings and closings. I put in a feature request with a support representative a few weeks ago to add the ability to disable this.
I have not found any other way to actuate the lock, since there is no IFTTT integration. Support has also claimed there is no integration with their own door sensor.
So, if you use it like a normal door, it's great. The firmware could be better and then this would be incredible.
Instantly, when locked with the finger print, but when locked with the cancel button, it takes a few seconds, are you experiencing something else ?
I mainly got it because my family absolutely sucks at remembering to lock the door when they come home. This has taken care of that for me with the auto lock feature.
Battery life has been good for us so far. I got the one with the wifi bridge like a month before the model with internal wifi came out. That pissed me off, but the bridge works fine. I just wish they had it so 1 bridge could control more than 1 device in the event someone got a Second lock.
I have accidentally shut the door and slammed into in the molding because of it auto locking while the door was left open. That's more our fault than the door.
I've also had several correspondence with Eufy support and they were always easy to get ahold of via email in a day or 2. Overall, would recommend. I've probably sold a few more for eufy by people coming over to the house and seeing it, and then getting one for themselves.

Love the lock but Eufy needs to find a way that you can have more than 1 lock and need only 1 key.
Auto lock works but whether you have it set for 1 second or 3 minutes the auto lock will engage after 3 minutes even if the door is open. Since I already had a contact sensor on the door I disabled the auto lock in the eufy app and wrote an alexa routine to auto lock the door when the sensor closes. Now the door only locks if the door is actually shut. In the garage it also stops any music playing and turns off the lights.
According to me, you shouldn't get one that has wifi at all, or any connection to the internet. These brands are coming out with wifi front door knobs all at the same time. That doesn't mean they are secure. In fact we know they are very insecure at this stage. Consumers assume anything on the market is safe, so they are buying up these things. The security is horribe so all these people who buy are guenny pigs. By my estimates these things wont be secure even 10 years from now.
Better to get a quality keypad version with a heavy build (Doesn't have to be heavy, just not light). No wifi. You even skirt replacing batteries every 4-5 months.
I also don't recommend most people to have any inside cameras. Better to get wired cameras, 4k would be good, and have them all over the outside of your house. If they get in your house they have to approach your house and you will have high quality video of them. If you system is hacked they only see what is outside of your house.
If you want to go further. Inside your house have window sensors, breaking glass sensors.
Get this costco black friday deal for wired cameras. This is the type you want.

If you want to go further (optional, the 4k wired costco cameras are the most important part)
For inside get in on this simplisafe 50% off BF deal. It's still going as writing of this post. (Roll your own system (I'd skip the cameras):

Since it's exterior-facing, I can understand why they wanted to use a touch screen instead of physical buttons. Dirt and dust can blow underneath the edges of buttons, eventually gumming them up so they don't work. But with a touch screen you can seal the edges so dirt can't get in. Being exposed to the outdoors makes it different from, say, the climate controls of your car, where getting rid of the buttons and knobs is just stupid.

I bought the eufy lock to give it a try. I'll compare using the fingerprint versus losing the auto unlock. Hopefully the battery in the eufy will last at least as long as the august. Or if there was some adaptor to use regular batteries that would be nice.
