Poor Michael at Compass Coffee going to get back in the office to cancel 25,000 orders of a Burr Coffee Grinder. Sweating profusely having to hear from 2,000 Karens who believe he should honor a price error even though it would put his small business bankrupt.
I'll devote my next cup of coffee to him for the hard work he is about to do on a simple website mistake.
These are the times that make me want to leave Slickdeals.
This code was obviously not supposed to get out. It was probably intended for a few people who were instructed to use it on an item or two as some sort of a gift, possibly as a charitable type thing.
A small business can't just front a loss like this, especially to a group who isn't going to want to pay full price for anything they have, much less for an extended period of time where they could actually (eventually) break even.
This isn't Target or Amazon. I would really encourage you to not get upset when your order is cancelled and instead to have some compassion for this owner who now has to spend hours and hours trying to remedy an honest mis-take while having people berating him via email and otherwise (as I see some of you are ALREADY ready to do).

Lolwut? You can easily cancel these via a database call and a webhook. I'm a web dev. The Karens though... You're right about that
Ahh, the importance of setting up your web commerce site correctly to limit coupon usage and inventory controls. Someone is going to have a real bad Monday.
Yeah, or maybe companies should stop farking around with MSRPs and fake discounts. I don't feel bad for them.
I was the first view on this thread and ordered 2 minutes later. I will let you know what happens but not expecting anything except a cancellation email.
Yeah definitely not a connoisseur of coffee grinders. When I look around at what is available on the market I see quite a few options in the $25-$55 range, good reviews etc. But sure call me stupid if it makes you feel better
People paying $25-$55 for a grinder aren't necessarily the best people to get advice from on the matter in the first place, regardless of the product's rating. "Hey! I paid $30 for the grinder and it actually grinds stuff, 5 stars!!" I know some people are fine even using cheap blade 'grinders'. Doesn't mean there's not plenty of room for improvement. Just because my $1000 scooter is rated 5 stars doesn't mean it does the same job as my $10K Harley.
Personally I don't think most people need a $100+ grinder... unless maybe you're doing espresso on a regular basis. I picked up a sub-$100 Capresso Infinity model (slick deal at the time), and I've been plenty happy with it, for the price. I would have jumped on this Encore model for $67.50 just to try something rated a little better, if I hadn't been late to the party. Not that I'd been looking for an upgrade and wouldn't want to pay $110+ for one.
