99.999% of coffee drinkers are not drinking coffee that was roasted last week or even in the last 90 days. Hell you cant even expresso several day old beans, the expresso explodes in all of its co2 goodness.

Yes it would be wonderfull to have a roaster near by that sells cheap extremely small bags that will last you at most a week or two.

But for the rest of us, let us enjoy the 2-4 pounds that was odds are fresh roasted months ago(or heavens to betsy ground then too) that we will nurse over the next 3-4 months. This can will at least reduce the little brown sponges from sucking in all the humidity of the air and getting even stailer faster.

Yes preground coffee is like sliced bread or presliced birthday cake. Yes i have my stash of green beans next to my popcorn popper Smilie But yes the non weekend coffee for at work is still the 4 pound bag from coffee beans direct that is in the freezer, but at least we have grinder so we are not complete savages.

I don't think you wanna have that much ground coffee around, apparently has a ridiculously short shelflife,..Whole beans have 2-3 weeks of peak freshness and flavor
Ground coffee only has 20-30 minutes of peak freshness
Always buy coffee with an honest "roasted on" date
Avoid coffee with a "best buy" date far off in the future
You can extend your whole bean coffee's freshness by 1-2 weeks by using a vacuum coffee canister
Brewed coffee starts to decay after 1-2 hours but is safe to drink for many more
I don't Think this canister is vacuum Sealed?
I wonder what such fresh coffee taste like? I don't think I've ever had it like that

I can see using this to save a grind you have once in a while, but don't see the point in coffee grinds you would be opening everyday.

They also have the more traditional medium sized canister about the same price with coupon.
$27.99 sale price $19.97 - $7 coupon = final $12.97:

I have some coffee gator products. The one I use the most is the French press, which is the same color as this canister. I will warn you, the paint does chip off and wear and it is just stainless where the paint comes off. I haven't ever had the paint end up in my coffee, as it has only seemed to chip either in the sink banging around other items, or if I took it for travel, like camping and places like that. Solid products for sure, just beware the paint issues

I also added that I've probably never Drunken really fresh coffee like that. Just sharing some interesting info. Coffee companies know all about this but they don't share that info because they want to sell their old coffee. And I responded because the container is said to be made for ground coffee

Savage here - we buy ground coffee and the big bags too so they last longer.

Same. We get the big bags of whole beans at Costco and grind them before we leave the warehouse. Coffee snobs be clutchin their pearls.

Oh yea the parents LOVE that 3 pound folgers in the red plastic can that is pre ground and opened daily. Odds are they buy 3-4 cans per year. They make funny faces if i fresh roast them 6 oz. Complain that it makes the coffee maker foamy from the co2. Complain it tastes funny (because not over roasted to the point i just tastes like "coffee") and has a odd color...

I've been storing my beans in a mason jar in the fridge. Will this keep my coffee even more fresh?

LOL, I've had one for years, guess I got it a garage sale. I didn't know what that dial on top was for, thought it was maybe a vent. I do like blending fresh ground and experimenting. I'm a zombie before coffee so I always set it up before bed.
