RAM
Came with 8 GB soldered and had an open slot for up to 3200 DDR4 SODIMM (up to 40 GB total). My guess would be this has 8GB soldered and an extra slot with an 8 GB chip in it.
HDD
Mine came with an M.2 512 GB ssd. Has an open spot and a connector for a sata 2.5" drive (but no ribbon for such). This probably does too, but limits you to 256 GB without upgrading.
Wifi
Came with Wifi 6 2x2. Good chance this does too.
Speed
Updated to Windows 11 right away. It was acceptably fast for web browsing and office 365 work and video streaming with 8 GB. I put another 16 GB stick in it last night for a total of 24 GB RAM. It now boots from shutdown in 6 seconds and shuts down in about 2-3.
Gaming
I won't be gaming much or maybe at all on this PC, but I thought I'd see what it could handle. Ran older titles very well (Team Fortress 2, L4D2) but could not even boot up Halo Infinite. Don't expect a gaming PC but will handle casual gaming as long as the titles aren't graphics intensive by today's standards.
Bear in mind, this is NOT a description of the current PC. I have the 17" version, but probably gives you an idea of it's capabilities.
based on some research, it looks like it uses a TN panel (they seem to want to market it as "IPS-level" which means a nicer TN panel). i have nothing against TN panels, as i still use one as my main gaming monitor, but something worth noting for those who swear by IPS.
i don't know if the memory is expandable or dual channel, but i can't imagine doing any workload with this quad core mobile i5 that would require more than 16gb.
considering the anti-8gb ram brigade on slickdeals, this should appease them, but understand that this is an everyday laptop, not a heavy duty / gaming / premium luxury one. it's priced accordingly, though i wouldn't say it's super hot by any means.

Is this aluminum?

Turn your imagination into tangible projects with this 15.6-inch Full HD ASUS VivoBook laptop. The Intel Core i5 processor and 16GB of RAM deliver high-speed computing performance, while the 256GB PCIe SSD enables quick access to media files and apps. This Star black ASUS VivoBook laptop features a fingerprint reader for secure access and Bluetooth connectivity to sync with wireless devices.
15.6" LCD with an anti-glare surface presents a bright, clear picture. FHD (1920 x 1080) resolution yields a high level of image detail, and LED backlighting provides a thinner, more energy-efficient screen.
Get the processing power you need from an Intel Core i3. Multitask through you workload.

And then you go into product details and it says core i5 again.

HDMI 2.0 which is rare.
2 USB 2.0 A gen 1 not sure why not 3.2
1 USB 3.2 A
1 USB 3.2 C
proprietary power jack - not good why not on the USB C?
VivoBook 15 scored a measly 65 percent on the sRGB color gamut. Though this is as good as HP 15's and Acers and such it is lower than many others.
VivoBook 15 maxing out at 205 nits in lab tests. This is quite low making the screen somewhat difficult to use.
The web cam is 768P not really that good nowadays.
The cooling fan is quiet. More so than most.
Overall this is a good budget laptop. Especially at this price with 16GB of DDR4 and an I5.
