Missing one important feature - USB C is only for data - missing PD and DP..

The model number is correct for an i5.

Haha thanks, I missed that when I pasted. Even OfficeDepot lists the i5 in the item name but mentions i3 in the description. I fixed it here on SD though.

On build, Asus does plastic right. The Vivobook feels better, stiffer, than the two plastic-bodies HPs I have here. One with a listr of $430 and another with a list of something like $800.

Does anybody have firsthand knowledge of this screen? Sounds mediocre based on specs, just wondering how it looks in person.

I have been using a similar model S15 S533eq which has the same form factor but with MX 350/8GB memory/512GB Nvme/Thurderbolt 4. This has been my very first notebook experience with a non-Dell-HP brand.

Build quality is great, very clean understated looks, good mixture of aluminum and plastics. The performance has been really good even with only 8GB, I have not had throttling issues that I had with my Dell with 8GB.
Cooling has been good, super quiet even with several tabs and programs open. Been quite impressed with the experience.

Only downside is the screen and keyboard. There are two versions of the IPS-quality screen options and I have the lower option of the two, it has been little dark for my liking.

Keys are silver so even with the backlight, in some instances its really hard to see. There was a black keys option when I purchased it and that would have been a better option.

Also the close proximity of the number pad on the right side needs getting some used to.

For the price, it has held up pretty well for the past 7 months or so.
