One, it's not even close of being real walnut and second even real walnut looks like the walls in mobile homes.

In deph look and review of the speakers. Basically he says they're cheap speakers. Probably not worth anymore than the "deal" price. I think these speakers are probably supposed to sell around this price to begin with and the price drop is just a gimmick. They look like quality speakers, but from I've heard, they're not.

How does this compare to a 5.1 set full of JBL LSR 305 speakers? I'm wondering if this would be an upgrade? I'm disappointed with my rear channels as they don't pump out as much sound as I thought considering they are powered.
I don't know anything about audio, but my wife likes to karaoke and we've been using those 100W portable (wheelable) rockers from Costco (which are better than my $200 soundbar).
I'd say to do some research with soundandvisionmag.com S&V Sound and Vision and

Jamo has a good enough repuatiation in the entry level market. Klipsch I would say is like a gateway drug. Unless you're talking about their heresy line. Either way, you can't really go wrong. The Klipsch horn tweeter sound is known to be kind of polarizing amongst listeners.
The best advice is to DEMO in person (your room would be absolute best) and then pick one. Go to Costco and listen to some Klipsch speakers and see what you like. Go to BB Magnolia if you can find one and do some listening tests. Let your ears tell you what to pick. Good luck!
YouTube has lots of videos on various components represented in this system, so do yourself a favor and look at a few if you're on the fence. Andrew Robinson's YouTube channel has a couple of reviews and he's been a huge fan of these speakers. Don't know why they've been discounted so drastically this past year - maybe they are being pushed out for a newer product line coming soon, but here's an opportunity to own a theater speaker system that sounds really good, has a minimalist style and won't break the bank. I don't think you'll find comparable quality in a theater system that will beat this at this price point. BTW, the matching top firing Atmos speakers are really the icing on the cake with this if you can track a set down.

I spent more time than I wish trying to figure this out. Was wondering why the damn price was diff for the same item..

I just got this set with the 803 surrounds. Personally I think they sound pretty good. Wasn't all that impressed with the center channel but plan to upgrade that. The 809 towers seem like a killer value for the money.
I was thinking of this [cnet.com]
There are some decent looking Walnut speakers but again not my thing...

How does these compare to a set of Pioneer Andrew Jones set? Frys used to carry them and on sale regularly.
If I had to choose, I'd take these over the AJ's, but that's super super subjective. Audio can be a deep rabbit hole to go down. At the end of the day if you have the AJ's and you enjoy what you hear, there's just not any reason to change. If you feel like you're missing something with the AJ's, or feel like they're too warm (these will be slightly bright) then these are a solid replacement. Both are entry level systems.
