I remember when my friends and I visited Paris, probably early 2000s after our graduation in a huge perfumery shop. Where we learned that employees are not just employees, which we see in our department stores perfumery section, they were all having degrees in olfactory and knowledge. So we asked one lady about Men's perfume and she told us in a heavy sexy French accent, well, there is no such thing as Men's or Women's perfume, its just a perfume. Some BS marketing house in order to sell, marketed as different gender perfumes, there is no gender in perfume or colors, its a liking of an individual.
She said perfume as soft, hard and medium blends of notes.
Then she applied few perfumes on our hands asked us which one we think are women and men? She, also, asked each of us to choose their favorite. When we choose our favorite amongst them, she said these all could be women perfume.
Bottom line, this is biggest BS. If you like a perfume, then wear it.
Well, perfumes are subjective. BTW, I have been to many middle east countries, do you know Oud perfume, in fact I have a small collection of it. They are considered as most expensive perfume. They wear by both ladies and gents and there is no women or men Oud exists.
Since you talked about Coco Channel, I have watched both movie and documentary on Coco, She in her life time never sells any perfume by genders. She used to mark her perfume by numbers. And that's how Channel No.5, Channel No.7 still selling.

And that Mr Bond we call bookish knowledge that has not as much weight in the real world.
I wouldn't be caught dead wearing Coco by Chanel, and sure as heck my wife would not appreciate being sprayed upon with Armani Code Black for men.

Exactly. And why do you think they eventually needed to separate their perfume lines in line with genders?
And yes they do have Oud for men and women separately now, at least in UAE and Qatar that I know of. It's the need of the day. You can call it marketing BS which it very well could be to some extent, but it's more product evolution.

Ship and sold by Walmart. Must be genuine.
Still looking for a REAL perfume for a good price. At least 1.7oz, hopefully more.
